Just checking in from SW OR. Mt A opened Thursday with some of the best snow in years. Friday was great. Saturday power outage at 2:30 in the afternoon was not ideal, but the skiing was good. Sounds like the winds and ice have been slowing ops down across the state. At least we have snow!

WP and Doo closed today. Chains required on all vehicles on Santiam Pass.
    Tombstone closed.
30% of Lane County without power.
Ice in Eugene is bulletproof but textured enough to drive with good tires or chains.

(Edit, both Doo and WP closed now)

    Shitshow at MtB as well
7:45am Update: All lifts will start the day on hold due to de-icing. The Sunriver bus is stuck and being towed, expect delays on the road from Sunriver as well as on Century Drive. The Sunriver bus route will not be operating this morning. Teams on the hill are reporting an inch of ice on the snow surface. Off-piste terrain will have challenging conditions with a breakable crust on top of last night's new snow. Large clumps of ice and snow are falling from tree branches, creating hazards in treed areas.
They got Rainbow and Little Pine open though…

I did not go up today. Got up and looked at the report just after 7am and decided to take the dog for a walk. Had to push some lady out of the ditch after she high centered on Mt Washington. Front wheel drive vehicle with some Les Schwab Road Control 2's just isn't what you need in these conditions.

I guess part of it was all the standing in lift lines had sucked a little bit of the life out of me. Plus, the injury to my right upper rib cage area was enough to keep me close to home.

One thing for sure, the Bachy lift ops crew has taken a beating from Ullr this past week. Maybe all the tourons that came over will think twice about patronizing Bachelor next time around. One can hope.

Had already planned on a crack of noon start and the ice at bachelor didn't sound appealing. Champagne powder on Pilot Butte. Thankful for ON3P bases though

Respect. Did the same on Cline Butte but kept to the “groomed” and hit nary a rock. Skin track stoke: Click image for larger version.

Timberline, Ski Bowl closed. We tried to make the best of it and skied the ice storm around our neighborhood:

Got an email from MHM today saying they were sorry about all the delays & were adding a 50% off day ticket to my account. I’m guessing everyone who managed a pass at the turnstile today got one — anyone else?

Did you get a chance to see how they were dressed? You Bend people have taken Athleisure fashion to the next level! I'm captivated.

Somehow, I imagine those snowboarders at the golf course yesterday must've been drippin' Athleisure. Splitboards, beacon, probe, shovel, camp stove, IPAs, goretex...

Odead was rocking some Bend fashion here in the valley yesterday - touring around on his Cast system with the backpack and vest like he's shopping around the deli at Market of Choice. We cruised up to the sledding hill, and all the parents must've been like DAYUM a couple of Protect Our Winter ambassadors just skinned over Santiam Pass.

Lol, we looked so outta place with all the sledding kids, and I couldn't stop giggling about how this would just be considered normal if we were at Pole Pedal Paddle. We were workin' it though!

And if it isn't clear, no hate for yall Bend people! Athleisure is the envy of the western world. I'm making fun of ourselves for getting kitted to go to the sledding hill [emoji2960]

Hopefully things improve at Mt. Brokenchair later this week. I'm off to chase snow in the land of billionaires, private jets and lack of affordable employee housing for a few days.
