Curious if anyone has seen Morgan Wade live? A friend saw her in VA and said it was phenomenal.

Seen her three times Rev. First time was when she opened for Lucero in Solana Beach back in Nov '21. Drove down just to see her as I fell in love with her debut album at the beginning of the pandemic. 2nd time was here at The Depot May '22. Again she opened for whomever was the headliner and we went just to see her. Didn't even stick around for headliner. 3rd time she headlined at the Commonwealth Room summer '23. IMHO, she's gotten to big now for me to enjoy seeing her. If you weren't on that train at the beginning, you really missed out on seeing her in a small venue. She does put on a helluva show though. First time, she did a sick mash up of Suspicious Minds/Shook Me All Night Long. Second time, she did an even sicker mash up of Our Love/Jessie's Girl. Google that shit; you'll be happy that you did.

    Thanks Xover. Fred is awesome.
I'll put Margo on the list of shows to check out.
Just saw Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country at TSR. was a hell of a show for us Country fans and Phisheads who collide in a weird alien land.
Jesse Daniel 4/20 at the state room too.

Just had another friend recommend Daniel Donato to me based on that show. He’ll be at the Mangey Moose soon if I recall correctly.

Unfortunately we ended up bailing on driving down due to the weather that night. Def want to catch him next time he's back in SLC.

That's rad and unfortunately, exactly what I was afraid of. Seeing her with Lucero (the fucking best) would be incredible.

James McMurtry seems to get pigeonholed as Americana music, which is Country Music for Liberals.

    Regardless, a great songwriter

Just bought tickets for Old 97’s (Center for the arts, Jackson).
Nothing like great show a few blocks from home!

So what's the true appeal of Morgan Wade? Her music is good but also, ahem, unremarkable. My theory is if you are a middle aged man listening to troubled love songs by Morgan, some of which is tweeny agnsty pop music, you just have a crush on her and her voice. I haven't listened to her much (and would like to keep it that way after listening to a few songs) so maybe I'm off.

Has Joshua Ray Walker been mentioned? Haven't seen his name in the past 3-5 pages roughly.

If it wasn't on a Sunday, I'd have driven up for that one. Instead headed to Laramie on Friday. Stoked!!
