We were lucky to catch Sierra Ferrel opening at Red Rocks last weekend for my wife's birthday. Talk about old school country!

I've been wanting to see her live for a while. Very confident singer, with an amazing voice and great lyrics. She killed it as an opener at RR which is not always easy. Greensky brought her out for a couple songs that were killer:

    No doubt.

tgapp - Buzz & I saw her back in April at the Depot; I'll make sure to loop you in next time. I've been following her since when she played 600 lbs of Sin, so fun to see a WV girl make it big.

    Love Sierra Ferrel

Fkn Amped to see Jesse Daniel tonight
    https://youtu.be/IN79HhsLCVY?si=HPhx7QtWoo0JXBdJ

Last show I saw before pandemic was him opening for Jason Boland and binged his music during.

First opportunity to see a full band
Even going all the way to Brooklyn for it.

    Hot damn

Best show I’ve seen in a long long time.
Thanks again MarsB for that invite! She’s so talented.

Agreed. Honorable mention for “Sara’s Place” with Noah K too.

Anyone ever heard of Buzz Martin, the Singing Logger?

Realized Sunday morning listening to it in full, American Beauty is a country album.

There is a lot of GOOD "country music" out there once you pay attention.

    Recent stuff?
Spotify just told me I listen to a lot of Jason Isbell, Turnpike Troubadourrs & Margo Price.

    Cody Jinks also bad ass.

If any of y'all are ever in Manhattan go see whatever band i playing at the Waylon in Hells Kitchen cuz thats good country

Beggar's Banquet is also a great country album.
"fuck off you asshat gaper shit for brains fucktard wanker." - Jesus Christ
"She was tossing her bean salad with the vigor of a Drunken Pop princess so I walked out of the corner and said.... "need a hand?"" - Odin
"everybody's got their hooks into you, fuck em....forge on motherfuckers, drag all those bitches across the goal line with you." - (not so) ill-advised strategy

Totally agree. The Stones do a lot of country.

Hank Williams IV is good. And it's not Hank III's son, who goes by just "IV". No, it's Ricky Fitzgerald who... ah fuck it, it's all here:

Shane Smith and the Saints have a lot of great tunes, not just this too familiar ode.

Red Clay Strays also worth your time

I love this. Shout out to another WV native on that list, Charles Wesley Godwin. One of my good friends did the artwork for the album this song is on.

Poetry. We love Luke Bell at my house--He reminds me a little of Prine and Tom T Hall, wish he could have grown old like them.

Both my kids love Tom T Hall, I never would've seen that coming, but Tom is playing by request at dinner more nights than not.
