Clippers on anyone’s radar? My cousin who lives in LA grew up a Warriors fan but switched to Clippers 15 years ago. He’s finally getting all frothed up at how their talent is gelling.

+++Vibes+++ to Halliburton. That guy has a lot of potential. And the Pacers stepped up without him.

WTF was up with the refs??? They get paid to give it to the Pacers??? I'm obviously biased and I watch the NBC Sports Boston coverage, not any national coverage, so those guys are super biased. That said, Brian Scalibrine had a lot of good to say about Indiana during the game.

And now Jokic has missed 6 shots over his last 5 games. Cause on Sunday he went 2-3 from the field in 25 minutes. 3 total shots. No free throws for 4 total points. Know what else he did in his 25 minutes of the blowout win? He had 16 fucking assists. And Murray had 37 points and is now full on rolling over the last week or two.

Jokic does not give a shit about stats. He's out there playing 82 game chess. Jesus.

They look really good right now but I just don't believe they'll be able to stay healthy given the injury history on that roster.

Conspiracy theorists are blaming gambling for such a puzzling call/non-call with Brown getting ponked on the head.

The games where he doesn't need to score have the most hilarious stat lines. He just refuses to score and wants to get everyone involved and coast to an easy win. Embiid would be out there in the fourth quarter trying score.

Ya, I just don't get that one. Pretty remarkably shitty end of game for an otherwise remarkably awesome game. And props to Kornet for the valiant effort at the (last, lol) buzzer.

Agreed. That team is made of glass.

No surprise the last 2 minute review of the Celtics Pacers game was a political job. They upheld the no foul on Brown. If it had been a foul, then it is highly likely that Brown would have made at least one of the free throws for the lead. The pacers with no time outs would have been forced to go the full length of the court and score in three seconds which is doubtful. Bettors who lost would have been incised.

They also deemed the foul on Porzingis was an incorrect call. In some way appeasing the Celtics fans. At the same time this would have resulted in a tie game going into overtime. One the Pacers very well could have won.

I like the games and I have accepted that there’s some pressure on referees to keep the entertainment value up. If it feels that the league is bending more to the betting side I will loose interest.

How about the Celtics last night over the T Wolves in OT?

Only caught Q1. Would've loved to watch the whole thing. Looked like it could've gone wither way right up to the buzzer. Both games have been really competitive. Would be fun to see a playoff series with both teams playing all their guys.

How about the Jazz 20 point blowout of the Nuggets last night? ( i know the final score was the jazz just winning by 13 ish points, but they were up by 20 most of the game).

Will Hardy made some roster moves about a month ago, bench THT, got Simone Fontecchio going, JC is lighting it up off the bench and now the jazz are 8-2 in their last 10 games. Sorta unfortunate since OKC gets their first round pick unless that pick is in the top 10 and for whatever reason, the jazz look poised to make the play in.....

So what's the strategy behind tanking a game on purpose? WTF was Joe up to? Tell me there's a good reason.

to get it in the right thread... I have watched a couple of OKC games, and man they are fun to watch. And they look really good. I still think they will not get through the western conference this year, but they might, and they are going to be good for a while.

I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around the Bucks absolutely walloping the Celtics. I watched some of the 3rd quarter and 40 point deficit with middle and end of bench players on the court was hard to take. I turned it off. 33 pt gap final score is a little better. Was this a betting thing? Boston is way better than what they displayed.

First, Boston was on their 5th game in 7 days, and coming off a hard fought OT win at home the night before, then traveled to Milwaukee. The Bucks OTOH hadn't played since Monday and had been home the whole time. And have you ever played sports? Sometimes you just don't "have it" and get walloped by a team that is generally your equal. So the Cs came out, the Bucks were kicking their ass, and by halftime Joe had seen enough. Sure, he could have left the starters in on the slim hope they came back, but in a somewhat meaningless regular season game, and considering the vast differences in rest for the 2 teams, he decided to give the bench some run. I don't know why this is so hard for you to understand.

2023/2024 NBA THREAD: WHO WANTS TO GO ON PARADE?!?

Anyway, it’s January so who gives a shit? People put way too much emphasis on regular season games once the playoffs roll around. It’s literally a different game. My money is on the Celtics over MIL once the games really matter.

Anyone hear of the kerfuffle at the Ring of Honor halftime ceremony?
They announce Jerry Krause, everyone boos, then the jumbo tron cuts to his widow crying and shaking, visibly distraught and stays there a minute too long.
    Nice.

Ugh, that was horrible. Like, I understand how Krause ended things sucked, but he’s dead and it’s his widow sitting there. Yeesh.

Definitely worrying he's a bust. I keep reminding myself that Ayton, Williams and others are injured...after the OKC game the IG feed for the blazers had the highlight from the game as thybul missing a 3. What's worse is that this draft is dog shit. Chauncey is not impressing me either. Hopefully Jody sells the team to Uncle Phil and we get a decent gm in there
Damn shame, throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that
