Penix impressed the hell out of everyone last night. that dude just made millions on the back of last nights performance. He was under pressure far more than the stats likely show, but his footwork and underrated mobility allowed him get the ball out on balance and on target a lot. The guy showed he is the most accurate passer in the draft class, and he also showed a cannon for an arm. Really, really impressed with penix. I normally hate lefty QBs, but damn he won me over last night. I think he should have won the heisman, and i also think that he now has a good shot of being the #2 QB taken in the draft.
Also, this year is Nick Sabans best job of coaching an alabama team, and likely his most rewarding. He gave a pretty darn good news conference after the game too. I never understood the hate for Saban, he has always seemed like a class act who does things the right way. Also, he is Ricky Williams' favorite coach, go figure.
Depends how much the boosters are willing to cough up for "name and likeness" rights.
The games are fun to watch if you have a dog in the fight--(I went to Michigan, although I never went to a game. Sold my ticket rights so I could eat.)
The business end is a travesty and is getting worse by the year--starting with high school and even younger.

Washington will be in the B1G next year with a National Championship rematch already on the schedule.
Recruiting is going to be much easier I think for the Huskies.
I still call it The Jake.
Penix reminds me of a less mobile/slower of Lamar Jackson with a more accurate arm.

In order to properly convert this thread to a polyasshat thread to more fully enrage the liberal left frequenting here...... (insert latest democratic blunder of your choice).
Me too!! I woke my wife up and she didnt believe me
Oh yea, and Penix can sling it! Wouldn’t mind seeing him in a Broncos uniform next year.

Samuel L. Jackson as Jules Winnfield: Oh, I'm sorry. Did I break your concentration?
Penix has a crazy ability to continually look down field where to throw and avoid the rush and not get sacked. Maybe it was kinda a blessing in disguise he had all those leg injuries.
Well maybe I'm the faggot America
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda
I'm thinking some of you don't follow recruiting. And I don't blame you at all, but regardless of their fantastic season, UW has had a very rough go in recruiting this off season. Bottom half of the BIG, if memory serves. Of course, with the portal and all, it's definitely not as critical as it once was but they're not going to the same heights next year with Will Rogers trying to fill Penix's shoes while losing a generational receiver to boot. And while I hate them like the vaginal discharge they are, I sincerely have a ton of respect for Deboer and what they accomplished this season, natty or not.

Husky nation has to remember the head coach, OC and DC ALL come from smaller programs and don't have a pipeline for 4/5 star players.
I don't know if they have hired "coaches" with existing "foot prints" in high talent states but that's what actually get you kids that can play.
IDK what their NIL situation looks like but that's the 1-2 punch these days. They struck gold with Penix and paired him with 3 NFL receivers for the last two years with a NON elite line on both sides of the ball. the 3 receivers are all holdovers from the previous regime(S) so the next 2-3 years will show the recruiting chops of the current staff. Obviously they get a pass for the 22' season but 23' season recruiting was not elite by any measure.
So what are all you experts predicting? I know nothing. But I really don’t want the pac going out with another ass kicking. Seemed like the Beavers would have taken UW down if they had stuck to the run at the end of the game (in gnarly conditions).

I think the transfer portal significantly reduces the importance of recruiting high schoolers. It is now more similar to the NFL where it is important to draft well (high school recruits), but signing FAs and trading for veterans can cover up poor drafts really well. UW can take advantage of this for 2024 because they are playing for a natty, but they are not a blueblood and need to perform EVERY SINGLE YEAR in order to be as attractive to top level transfers.
Non of that matters without cash. I have no idea where UW sits in NIL but that will make or break them. Portal is just as expensive (and usually more so) than recruiting. Pacific NW isn't a draw, they're not a Blueblood like you said, and UW women generally look like the front row of an Indigo Girls concert when compared to most major western state schools.
Excellent coaches is a strong plus and their season is definitely a strong spotlight but money will determine their staying power. And yes, I know that sucks.
