This Utes vs. Northwestern game has been good. Both QBs have recently been evaluated for concussion. Don't like seeing that, but it might come down to who can tough it out for the win.
Tied at 7, 7min to play.

These non-playoff silly bowls are just getting sillier. Texas A&M missing 31 players, USC missing 26… it’s like watching NFL preseason games, or college spring games. Can’t wait for a real playoff system to replace these stupid bowls.
And now FSU WILL be using their 3rd string QB. I guess that’s about the same as boycotting the game.
I have to admit I’m a little nervous about the UT/UW game. I read somewhere that #3 UT is favored to beat #2 UW. Not sure how that computes, but they said the horns have a 69% chance of winning. What concerns me is every time UW is considered an underdog, they use that as bulletin board material to motivate the team and end up winning the game.
What is the point of the bowls now (outside of the CFP)? Everyone either transfers or sits for the game. Ohio State lost to Mizzou yesterday 14-3, with their QB having transferred to Syracuse and Marvin Harrison JR sitting. What fan is paying good money to go to a bowl game like that?
Agree. Non-CFP bowl games are just riding on fumes at this point. I wish we could just get rid of them all and expand the CFP to 16 or 32.

In 1980 there were 15 bowl games, in 2023 there are 43 bowl games
Only 1 watchable game Friday. And it sure wasn't the ND-OSU game
6 win teams getting bowl games...money going to players...transfer portal
College football is a joke now. NFL lite is all it is. Money ruins everything. Just ask Jon Rahm, he's got 500M excuses
I guess Florida State should probably drop all their lawsuits…..they getting killed.
I get what you guys are saying, I really do BUT: my buddy and I drove down from the Q to El Paso to watch the Irish play the Beavs and had an absolutely awesome fucking time. Did that game “mean” anything? Hell no, but the experience was amazing. YMMV. P. S- El Paso is a criminally underrated city. The food, drinks, and hospitality was top fucking notch.
Park Tavern, Los Bandidos, some awesome food truck by our hotel (Paso del Norte)…. All around just a cool vibe…. Not saying I’d spend a week there, but it was cool….
This is what I was thinking. I'm not so sure these games are all out bad experiences. Most folks who go to the games seem to have a great time. That said, they are bad theatre and make for bad TV. And because of the revenue TV brings, my guess is that will be remedied in one way or another.

^^ I think the game was a lot more fun to watch for the Notre Dame fans.
That said, I can’t wait for the 12 team playoff to morph into a 16 team playoff and the other bowls go by the wayside.
The bowl season/ including today is a far cry from what it used to be…..New Years Day used to be “the day”…..
We have these continued crap games on all afternoon now on New Years Day…..and make everyone wait until tonight to watch the “good games”…..and the late game being so late/ nobody can even watch more than a quarter of it.
It’s kinda becoming more and more obvious, but the NCAA is really screwed up/money…who the hell are these guys lately making all these decisions. They just can’t seem to get out of their own way.
Hope the games tonight can at least redeem what we all used to enjoy.

WI should have run the ball once they got inside the red zone. What an epic collapse those last 3 plays. Ducks look like a solid # 8 team beating up on a not quite tope 25 team.

Alabama v. Washington is my prediction.
The real problem is nobody is actually running cfb, except some TV execs. NCAA has been out of the scene since Georgia and Oklahoma sued them in the 80s, they only enforce some recruiting and practice rules. As shitty as the NCAA is, cfb would probably be better if they were running it. There would definitely be more parity. NCAA used to enforce that every team got so many TV games, this is why they got sued and have no control over CFB.
This is the type of game we’ve been waiting for….not necessarily rooting for Michigan..just rooting against any SEC team….
Yikes….missed PAT/FG…killers.
