So a dog sitting on the couch, maybe it was already looking out the window or maybe not, should just sit there quietly while another dog stares intently and often starts barking and/or peeing in the front yard? Do you have a dog? Have you ever had a dog? Why would you teach it to ignore what looks like an aggressive dog in its home zone? Should I quickly harness them up and run outside so they can meet and socialize? Wouldn't that just make them even more anxious to do it more often? She also said that a few people have said the same thing and it would make it too hard to walk the dogs if they couldn't stop when the dogs want to. She also had no idea who put to poop pile on the porch, she said it could've been a couple of people. Fkn dumb.

People that live in the city and suburbia should not be allowed to have dogs.
If you don’t have a farm or ranch, you don’t need a dog. Same for big ass trucks….

I don’t think anyone expects your dog to act like it took to much xanax but rather you are being an asshole for confronting your neighbors about standing in their own neighborhood. Get the fuck over it, you signed up for having a dog and it is going to bark sometimes. That’s the deal.

While annoying, the barking thing is not the real issue; not picking up their dog's poop is the real issue. Maybe place a poop bag dispenser next to the side walk?

Oh and tell the nice ..... lady..... that blocking window vision is not the solution. Dogs have very good ears.

I guess me and the other neighbors are wrong to think that purposely antagonizing peoples dogs isn't ok. When I thought I was the only one I wondered but others think the same. Why is it so hard to just keep moving another 100 feet to get past the properties with dogs? Whatever

    Just sniping.

People who stop on dog walks at their dogs’ whim irritate me. When I used to walk my dogs I never put up with that shit. Who’s walking who? They can get all the sniffs they want in the yard and for a few seconds here and there. But when we’re walking we’re walking, assholes, and I set the pace.

My next door neighbor has a shitty little yap dog that absolutely loses his shit if I do much as appear in my own back yard. It's super fucking annoying.

My dog would never bark inside the house unless somebody knocked on the door .. would be nice if they could work with their yapper on the same.

Way back when we had my (now ex) mother in law’s yap dogs for a week at our house while she was out of town. Those fuckers acted like I was an intruder every time I walked into my own fucking house. I was so over those dogs by the time they went back home.

It's not the dog walking by that's at "fault" for a dog inside or in the yard barking, but when the owner of the walking dog lingers they're the asshole. In most neighborhoods all that barking doesn't just affect the dog owners, it affects the whole neighborhood. BTW, my dog doesn't bark when other dogs walk by --she dpesn't evem barl for the mailman--but I don't expect that of other people's dogs.

Eh, most weekdays they're stuck inside most of the day, so I see walks as their time to do their own thing.

I'm always on the fence of being thankful to hear how ridiculously stupid people are online, because it's funny, or being depressed that I have to hear inbred mouth breathers opinions all the time, like your thoughts matter to anyone, slingblade.

    Neighbors...

My neighbors dogs bark like crazy every time I’m in my driveway. And I’ll hang out there like I own the fucking place (really the bank owns most of it). I’ll wash the car, water plants, work on bikes. All the time listening to those fucking dogs.
But my neighbor has never asked me to stay out of my driveway. And I’ve never externalized my disdain for their dogs. Because we’re civilized. Turns out having a good relationship with your neighbor is worth making occasional compromises. Like all relationships.

That would be a weird and wholly unnecessary thing to do. That would go against exhibit A of why dogs are awesome.

Also, though, when you walk three 75lb dogs at the same time you have to be on mission or things get out of hand quickly, if only from a leash management perspective.

Also, though, who’s walking who? Be in charge, ya pansies. Your dogs will actually appreciate it.

Dunno about that, but in my old neighborhood we had several dog walkers who just followed their dogs while they wandered around, often being dragged by big powerful dogs they clearly had no business owning. Whether that was the case or they were being walked by a toy poodle, it always struck me as a weird and inverted relationship and the dogs were rarely well behaved even if they were nice dogs. Unnerving to me who has a dog that will occasionally and a little bit unpredictably bite strange dogs that get in his face (or butt, which is more common).

You guys do you, I guess. I think we can all agree that these are all good dogs, though:
