White Pine is holding still good snow, all though the walk is long for some, worth going up. Seems to be more 'consistent' with windboard / sustrugi up high and soft low.

Definitely a lot of “maximum confidence, medium skill” people going 60 mph yesterday afternoon. I noticed a lot more patrollers posted around the hill telling people to slow down than you usually see.

Starting to look like a refresh is in the cards for next weekend.

The 3rd (I think) snowfence has two interlacing trail cams pointing at it, I wouldn't do anything dumb by those fences.

I circled the bird for 30 minutes looking for a spot yesterday, would have gone home and written a passionate rant on here about it after 15 minutes, but was trying to show a Wasatch virgin a good time.

Will skip today and get back at it Monday.

For real though I skied some really fun stuff yesterday, I may need to replace my rock skis after a run out p-tex point, but it was worth it.

Today was surprisingly super soft at alta and even better than yesterday. Believe it not, it snowed for about 30 minutes

Nothing like riding a lift and looking down while patrol is loading someone into a sled and realizing it’s your kid. Turns out he tried to throw a daffy over a tree gap, caught his tip and got driven down shoulder first. Ended up with a sprained shoulder and a hairline brace fracture in his clavicle. Tough lesson about days to go big and days to pull it back. All things considered he dodged a bullet though since the doc says he’s only out 2-3 weeks. Having kids is fucking stressful sometimes.

Shout out to Alta patrol for getting him off the hill.

Geez that is tough. Glad he is ok. I got younger kids who aren't quite sending it like yours yet and I am always worried some jerry is gonna come in hot at 40mph and crush one of them.

Anyone been riding Brighton lately? Been there for a couple Saturday's this December and these reservations are quite strange. They say the parking is fully reserved but its now been 3 weeks where I have seen it not even close to full at 11 am. Not sure what is going on but I will say the commute up the mountain has been 10X better than last year. I could have left without issue at 8:20 to make a 9:00 start.

ASP gave us a New Years gift and got Devil’s Castle open this morning. Probably wanted some compaction before this weekends storm. Nice to have a few fresh turns again.

the Alta parking is getting ridiculous. I had a reservation the other day and couldn't find a spot, had to drive home. WTF.

Probably a lot of tourists up there who were not aware of the reservation system or didn’t mind paying the fine. Has anyone else missed out on a parking spot at Alta when holding a reservation? I’ve never heard of it happening before.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

This is the right move right now. I got some GS skis to compete with my racer spawn and have found them to be a great alternative to whining and crying.
I demoed the TECH TALK JONG! pro model this spring and their performance was unparalleled which is good because I ski in a wedge most of the time - bendtheski, 2011

Not supposed to happen but yeah, it’s definitely people not knowing or not caring and hoping they get lucky or accepting the ticket…
