Yeah, based on social posts that’s probably all it’ll be.

Opening day 2 years back was similar conditions and they let us get all the core shots we wanted. Looking at the cams, they let/had the trollers (assuming) track up upper LC bowl. Doesn't feel like much is gonna be open Thursday this time but I'm gonna be there to find out.
Alta opened the middle traverse yesterday, did not suck
Friday afternoon commuter special + Upside down storm, should keep things interesting through the weekend.

It’s official! IOC names Salt Lake City 🇺🇸 preferred host for 2034 Winter Olympics!
Mixed feelings. Awesome opportunity, but if it has the same impact 2002 had, this place will become even more of a zoo.
"If we can't bring the mountain to the party, let's bring the PARTY to the MOUNTAIN!"
This place is already a zoo, who are we kidding?
I’m stoked on this.
I’m also going to be fucking 60 😳
Mixed feelings on 2034 Olympics too - glad it's 11 and not 7 years out. Sad truth is that 9/11 had a lot to do with why '02 games were so f-ing fun!
Ok I know this is the wrong place for this post - but thought I'd see if there was any interest here before trying to hawk this stuff elsewhere. PM me if interested and I can send pics and more info
I have 188 Voile HyperV6 2 years old, very good condition, mild use (I don't think I have even had to do any p-tex work on these) w/ dynafit rotation (10s I think) mounted for 29.5 (but these bindings have a stupid amount of adjustability - probably 1.5 - 2 MPs either way(?). Bindings are on the heavy side, but skis are very light so a pretty serviceable set up for the wasatch. $400.
178 Blizzard Zero G 85 (white ones from a few years back) with old school dyna comforts (new old stock when mounted a couple years ago) mounted for 320mm bsl. Skis have two seasons on them, very good condition, used for skinning up areas and spring time only (very light for not a lot of $) - $100.
LMK - cheers!
Some of the best snow sports athletes in the world will come to compete in our backyard are you aren’t excited??
As a native Utahn, I feel like the 02 Olympics really helped to make SLC a better place to live for non-Mormon type folk. Sure, more people, more crowding, yada yada… but that’s inevitable at this point, 2034 Olympics or not. I think that bringing in money for better infrastructure (as long as that doesn’t mean a gondola) is a good thing. People love to complain about the airport, but it’s a really good airport, and that is in large part a result of the 02 games. I also think that bringing people, and perspectives from around the world into Utah is also a good thing. Hell, maybe the Olympics can be used as a way to motivate the legislature to take action to help save the lake from drying up, and to help improve our air quality.
But maybe I’m just being optimistic!

Put me in this camp. I love high level sports in general and the Olympics in particular. If I’m still kicking I’ll definitely attend as many events as possible and would love to volunteer. As for the overcrowding, that ship has already sailed. I can’t see, hosting another Olympics adding anything more than is already coming.
