Seriously. And if you’re on point today you’d be going out right now and finishing out the day in free refill conditions after all the beaters like stuntwanker have crumbled due to aforementioned complaints.

Guess the dream of the 90's still lives on in Texas' hearts and minds. We done squashed that rivalry years ago, homie.

Which pole did you manage to shove up your ass today? Clearly it hit a nerve lol.

This is my first time ever being on a resort without snowboarders, so it’s a very strange thing. My comments were in jest, you grumpy old fuck.

Bird conditions were brilliant. What an amazing mountain and I got to see maybe 1/50th of it.

It was just awesome to be out in snow...
I can't fathom complaining about anything about being out today

I was mostly kidding as well. I ride with skiers more than boarders. Enjoy your trip. It really is an amazing mountain, hopefully they can get some more open while you're here.

I thought it was dead before I moved here too but I've met plenty of good old Alta boys who have convinced me otherwise to the point that I don't even assume it's a joke when I see it in the thread anymore. And as long as they're allowed to exclude me on federal land the beef won't really be squashed. I want to ride that mountain dammit

Yea I hear ya, though maybe I should try that place on skis and see how much traversing there is.

I usually snowboard, but have been working on skiing the past several years just to be more versatile.

I did ride the Alta lift once with my splitboard. Before it was open of course. Helped an employee dig out their snowmobile, and he told us head down and he'll tell them to let us on.

Whoa I didn’t realise it was federal land. That’s super fucked in that case. I’m assuming because they’ve been here for 86 years they are allowed to continue the discrimination?

I don't want to stink up the thread any more, especially on the eve of our first full storm cycle. but I can technically ride there- come down on my splitboard many times. Always throws a few tourists for a loop. There was a lawsuit a few years back but it was before my time. What I cannot do is purchase a lift ticket. If I'm wrong, someone correct me. Preferably before I drop main chute and get a citation.

The 8 hour improvement in this view is worth at least one stoke point imo.

Who is Alta discriminating against? Anyone can buy a ticket. You can’t ride the lift if you’re riding a snowboard. They prohibit snowboards, they don’t discriminate against anyone. Well they might but prohibiting snowboards isn’t discrimination.

You could buy a lift ticket, but you just have to put on skis to get on the lift.
It's Alta Ski Lift Company, after all.
Shouldn't be an issue getting down Baldy or coming through the Peruvian Ridge gates. Getting through Sugar pass won't work for ya though.

Got a bit head of myself in a project and didn't get skis on today, better luck tomorrow. We'll see what the crowds bring.

Stunt - I assume you're eating off the regular restaurant menu? I've had countless burgers in the bar there, including last night. The Po Boy is pretty solid, too.

Things are still pretty bare at Basin, but last chair was amazing today.

I've fat biked down Main Chute, but they didn't let me on the chair with the bike either. Just cowboy up and climb it.

Was that you in the neon green borat thong??? You’ve got form.

Anyhow, happy to meet anyone for a beer. Americans are so much nicer than Canadians.
