    Did I say ever?

And do we remotely give a shit about the world cup scene here? I sure as fuck don't and marker has a reputation on this board for a reason.

there’s a Mikaela Shriffin thread with thousands of comments. So you are right, fuck the World Cup.

and you said they aren’t known for making good decisions with anything binding related… they are a binding and shitty ski gear company. I guess my reading comprehension is lacking.

for what it’s worth, I’ve blown out a knee in pivots after a prerelease set on 22 din and blown out a knee in jester pros. So no matter what no binding is safe.

Saying that I don't give a shit about the world cup might have been a little harsh... but very few people buy bindings based on "how many people ski them on the world cup."

People buy bindings based on hype, reputation and what they have experience with. Marker does not have a sterling reputation when it comes to their consumer bindings and I don't think that is controversial to say. I mean the Duke PT had issues with the toe piece breaking off within the first few months of its release, but Marker caught that one early at least.

In Daymaker news (Gear:30 podcast), Dadali claims the price is going down to $200 for both their adapters, which makes them definitely more edible in my mind. Not buying, but that makes them a 33% smarter choice. Their site isn't updated yet.

You blew your knee on a prerelease with a pivot set at 22? How is that proof of high din bindings being dangerous? You blew your knee because your binding didn’t hold. Sounds like you need higher din.

Also, when has there ever been a 22 din pivot?

it means that bindings fail and fuck up regardless. They were on my DH skis. FKS are made up to 28 din. But can’t be bought essentially. They come from the race departments. Same with marker comp bindings. They have some that max at 30 din.

    Can confirm.

Knew a few kids who had the non-retail-din versions on their speed skis.

I do, and I'm fully aware that the product elite level skiers use isn't available at retail. FWIW, Marker's reputation at the World Cup level is very good.

Shops specializing in racing can get them for you. No need to book a flight to Austria.

The Atomic Icon 30 & 24 are available through shops designated as Atomic Pro Centers (APCs).

Speaking of marker products, has anyone gotten hands on the new cruise yet? I’m curious if the brakes are removable

Brakes come off real easily, and the 90 mm ones weigh 90 g on my scale.

Anyone hear anything about the Marker Cruise yet? There's nothing out there AFAIK.

Please realize that below the new plastic cover and beside the color - those are the old Marker Comp bindings. They are very good. Hirscher used them.

thank you - this made me laugh out loud.

I know I might live in Scandinavistan, yet Kristoffersen's musings on his lack of properly precise bindings made it onto the first page of the main national news paper just as the debate was raging on here where people were trying to say to nobody outside of racing cares - enter Norwegians going full jeebus!!!

    1st world problems I know

Not a lot of boa on the scarpa downhill oriented boots, including the new tele boots. Is that a surprise, a disappointment, or neither?

BOA's H+i1 system is intended for overlap shells. They don't make one.
