Glad to see the Corvus going back to camber for 2025. Let's hope it's gained 400 grams too...
Corvus + more taper + more camber sounds pretty lame to me. The turning radius is probably even shorter now.
Who’s gonna try out the rear entry 130?!?
“ 118 has the same tip as the 110, always has since the all black ones. It’s being shown off in the graphics now.”
Thanks for clearing up what I figured with “showing off” the AirTip on the Sender Free 118.
The Blackops 118 had the rubber going right up to the top of the tips/tails so with the rubber now starting below the see through Airtips, that might be where some of the slight weight difference is maybe?
no hype on the zero g pro tour teaser on the tecnica instagram two days ago?
We didn’t carry Rossi a few years ago and Rossi has the most atrocious history with naming. Are the original all black ones the only ones considered the Black Ops 118?
I take all tech comments from reps with a grain of salt so you probably know more specifically. But it sounds like the last few years had the air tip all along and the mount plate has come and gone and is back again.
Blackops 118 and then Gamer were the same construction I think and don’t doubt the plastic spacers tip/tail were air tips/perforated in all of them but topped with rubber layer and extending down into the ski. Might have now moved to shorter rubber sheets now as the AirTip spacers are not covered anymore.
Thought the Swamps moved to an ABS type binding reinforcement to be more eco friendly(recycled?) but would rather the metal sheet myself. Better retention and increased torsional rigidity usually.
I remember from wayback Rossi promoting rubber absorbent in their wider skies. Like scratch bc ? Or s5
I want these pivots on these R110s I pre-ordered...

Goal: ski in the 2018/19 season
I sat through a sales meeting with a product manager who went on and on about the layup of this new ski being "race room, 2 sheets of metal and wood". Except my demos had arrived the week before and the UPS/Purolator driver ran over a box and broke a pair. That would be synthetic surrounding a spring steel metal layer there buddy.
what's orange and looks good on hippies?

If I had a dollar for every time capitalism was blamed for problems caused by the government I'd be a rich fat film maker in a baseball hat.

Anyone have a picture of the new Black Ops 118? Saw above that it looks more like the 110 but haven’t seen it in anywhere yet.
I know the roll out was a huge fail in a lot of ways, but I loved the look of the Dispatch line. The 120 was the most intriguing for sure, but killing off the rest of the line rather than reworking them is surprising. There was a lot of time and money invested there.
I'm guessing they will roll the 120 out as a "Wayback 120?"
I seem to remember that the AirTipGate surround the SF110 when it first launched had to do with the placement of the rubber in the tips. Meaning that the SF110 had the rubber closer to the center of the ski, whereas the BO118 had it at the very ends. As such the latter has quiter tips, but at the expense of more swingweight. Some feathers were ruffled on the matter, though I have no idea if it is the case. I kinda assumed that the new SF118 would do the same thing - if it indeed is a thing - resulting in a ski that is very much the same, but with slightly lower swingweight. That might be 100% wrong - time will tell. Such a move + adding a longer length should be #winning to me.
hm interesting. I was told by a long time K2 employee this past spring that it was decided that the construction needed to be completely reworked after it turned out to be somewhat prone to exploding / delaminating. I def hope they bring back the 120 - it was awesome. That is, preferably with a base that is slightly faster than the eco shite it had the first time around.
I kept my Dispatch 120. They are sweet. Chances are it will all work out. Our rep said it was bad Pawlonia that caused the issue. Sounds like a crock of you look at the construction. The layout and thickness is asking for explosion. Anything regarding the future is all rumours so take it with a grain of salt.
Regarding Black Ops 118. I was looking at the 176 and 186 from this year and they definitely have rubber tip spacers this year. I’ll have to double check if the sf110 has a visible air tip or if it’s supposed to be under the rubber.

I was definitely part of the “AirTip doubter” as I was nervous it was going to be longer in length and run further down into the ski like the older Soul 7 etc. Was very happy to see the AirTip ending mid tip so just the extreme top of the tip/tail that were always in the air. The rubber sheets starting just below it was still into the tips/tails and well into the camber contact area. So in almost all cases, you will get the rubber damp feeling still thankfully. But with that very slight loss of weight without the rubber on the very extremities, I wouldn’t doubt there would be some decrease in swing weight and a bit of overall weight if the rubber sheets are now 4” shorter.
i would not mind if the SF118 had the same weight, but more of it shifted slightly closer to center. It works exceedingly well in the SF110s. That being said, BO118s work pretty damned well as is too.
They do need to add a longer length though. That would probably make a fair few people extremely happy.
New arv 112 in 192 looks interesting.
Salomon the last five years: “The Shift is fine, all our athletes ski it hard everyday without issue. Only issues are when it’s improperly set up.”
Salomon this year: “Look we fixed (most of) the issues you definitely weren’t having with it the last five years. PLZ BUY”

yeah, Shift 2.0 is pretty disappointing. More like 1.2. I was hoping for a major re-work, increase of elasticity, etc. But these changes are purely cosmetic, still a binding you can't charge with.
