Did another 560 mile loop yesterday and found some really pretty backwater spots. The roads between Madison on US 20 and Cooperstown are barely wide enough for cars to pass in opposite directions in a few spots and the worst traffic was a few loose goats.

Now that is a region I can speak to. Spent a lot of summer time days around Cherry Valley and one valley over in a town called Roseboom. Nice area and yeah, more cows than people, one revolutionary war era massacre and probably a few stray bison wandering around.

I've ridden the whole section below the Thruway on my motorcycle. The section around the reservoir is fun, but the road surface is patchy is spots. North of Rt 28 it's a bit too open for peg scraping. Rt 28 from Andes to Oneonta is fun and well maintained.

Yeah I've done pieces but missed a lot. There are some super pretty spots along the way and it's up great north.

the section above the thruway is beautiful; but take a right on rt.8 for a great drive up the east branch of the sacandaga river…

Not sure how relevant it is to you guys but just in case somebody’s looking for some lower upstate night skiing opportunities, Holiday’s revival seems to be full steam ahead.

excited to make the turkey day pilgrimage back to the upstates this week. heading out to Utica/Marcy for thanksgiving with the fam and then hangin in the Dirty Roc for the rest of the weekend. tomato pie on the menu as an appetizer before the bird gets served, and you know we'll be washin' it down with some UC's.

Wait, are we rewinding rotors, replacing journal bearings or both?

We got out for a night filled with upstate goodness:

    UC on tap

    Utica greens on the menu

    Gold cans at the show

Looks like it's a good thing I also have plenty of customers here in SE NY, I really love driving in the snow but not for work. I decided a looong time ago that if I wreck a car going skiing or doing family stuff so be it but, if my car gets wrecked when I could've been working on the phone or sending emails I'd be pissed.
