I guess the only thing worse is a USED FORD pick-up with a bunch of after market parts

It has only 30K on it, but needs:
Two front 8 piston Brembos (pads and rotors)
    Two front axle arms
Rebuild two 3" King rear shocks
    New Tie rod ends
New front upper and lower control arms.

Are you rallying the shit out of this thing as it should be rallied?

Brembo pads and rotors, tie rods, and the rear shocks I could see if being reasonably put through it’s paces. But upper and lower controls arms and axle arms(?)….holy shit

Hopefully not, in which case I will keep running it till it croaks. But if signs point to replacing, I want to start thinking about where to go, could be a truck or a full size SUV. This will be a daily driver.

    Requirements are
    • Must have at least 6000# tow capacity (occasional camper towing)
    • Must have a semi-usable back seat and 4 doors (suicide doors ok), a small to medium adult or 2 and/or 60# dog must fit back there.
    • Must have either a 6' bed (if truck) or a back that folds completely down to a flat 6' area (if SUV). 5.5' beds are absolutely out.
    • I'm no mechanic so models that require lots of regular work or fiddling are not for me

    Budget: max $25k

I used to have a 4 door 6' bed Frontier and hated the length and turn radius; the Sequoia was much better. I hate the Sequoia gas mileage but like everything else. Would love better mileage but not an absolute requirement.

    Thoughts?

Long term, I am still looking. I am considering newer Sequoias (probably in the 2014-2018 range) but also plan on looking at just what you got, F150 supercab, and similar. Need to look at the rear seats and decide if they will work for me, and drive one and decide if I am ok with it being a daily driver.
Posted in another thread, but to close the loop since I asked here, I ended up with a 2018 Sequoia. Went over my budget posted above, I think my final pre-tax price after trade-in was just under $32k. I didn't get a great price but it was in fantastic shape and they gave me a crazy price on my trade-in, so all in all I did ok.

Nice Danno, a couple of my friends roll in those "family man's Tundra".

Now all you need is some proper bindings and a puffy with the proper pass pocket config.

Sold my ‘20 taco for $40k, which was what i paid for it a few years earlier. Bought a ‘09 lifted Tundra SR5 with low miles for $17k. Then came across a killer deal I couldnt pass up. 2001 Sequoia Limited w/ 55k miles for $9k. So now Im gonna throw a camper on the Tundra. Use the “Tequoia” as a daily driver/ski/dog mobile. So now, instead of having one $40k small truck i have two large but reliable vehicles either of which i can live in when the wife kicks me out for a total of $27k. Insurance on the two is less than the Taco was too. Gas mileage sucks but the Taco wasnt much better.

"Just 50 examples of the Baja 700 will be offered, with pricing for the conversion starting at $45,000 -- not counting, of course, the cost of buying a 2011-2014 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor."

    Good luck with that.

nice, saw you reference a Sequoia in another thread and wondered. Owned my 1st gen for almost 9 years, it is a supreme road trip vehicle. Take the 3rd row out and it can haul a ton. And sleeping in the back is awesome (again, with 3rd row removed; they got removed my first day of ownership).

Plus, now you have a #liftedtundra. A nice collection of flatbrims, several layers of puffy hoods, some big sunglasses and you'll be looking pro.

In certain circles. thats just mid-grade. 3/4 ton w/ 33s minimum, Ariat shitkickers, Coors Latte in the Yeti koozie...then you are moving past JV status.

I feel so classy driving that thing around. Never had a sunroof before. I of course upgraded the stereo and added a backup cam. It is a fun vehicle. Haven’t owned a non-truck since the 90s.

    Goddamn salty SOB.

That said, nothing will get you on the starting squad as a middle aged bro like Pit Vipers. Make sure the wife has a Stanley monster water container.

This is essentially the entire sideline of my daughter's soccer team.

I'm not familiar with these water containers, must research. The intersection of Redneck Fashion and Mountain-y City Slicker Fashion cracks me up. Once Carhartt came out with the skinny jeans line I guess all bets were off. We used to ride the sub contractor that came around with the after market rims saying they look rich and the customers would think they were being overcharged. Now the moms come around with the factory tint and rims on the Telluride.

But truck wise but everyone has gone back to the beater work truck, shit is too expensive. Except the excavators, fuck me if its not Denali Duramax flat bed for the boss and then tuned 2nd Gen Cummins pulling the equipment.

My buddies wife has a birthday coming up. She likes redneck fads. He likes hockey. She said she wanted that Stanley cup for her birthday and he’s sitting on a present that’s going to really disappoint her.

Hey Siri, remind me on Wednesday to snap a pic of the guy's whip that's coming to dig up my septic tank because Foggy nailed it.
