I really learned to ski on the WC108 and it was my only ski for about a season - love them. They're fun and intuitive, easy to ski moderately on but still have plenty of backbone. They're exactly what I want out of an everyday ski - I've been on them in plenty of deeper days, hardpack, and average softer Sierra conditions. Skiing in the Sierra they don't necessarily float when it's deep out, but I think they're awesome in anything short of super heavy and super deep. This would be my one ski quiver if I had the self control to only own one pair of skis.
But, I've found that buying skis is so much cheaper than bikes so...I bought a used pair of WCs the following season. The WCs were immediately familiar. The WC needs more speed to come alive if it's at all firm, but they also cruise through roughed up and 3d snow better than the 108s. They are still easy to ski, but you have to put a bit more energy into them than the 108s. The WCs float more than the 108s but obviously nothing like a dedicated pow ski - but that's kind of the point in my eyes. The WC is still great for the entirety of a resort pow day from the first laps to end of day chop.
The WCs that I bought had been retuned to 1* base / 1.5* side. Really preferred that and ended up retuning my WC108 to that and like them even more now. All the skis from 22/23 onwards now come that way from the factory I believe. Previously they were 1:1.
It's a tough choice because the skis are so similar. If you already have a 100-110 ski that you like and want to split the daily driver activity then I think the WC116/118 is the way to go.
