That vid cut out to soon. You can see the NPS vehicle coming down the wrong lane after them.
tourons got lucky. Mama bear was chill enough to just mosey away. If some asshole came running at me and my kids that way one of us would wind up hurt (likely me)
I can’t decide what I like more.
The name tourons of Yellowstone?
Or tourons running towards a momma bear and her cubs?
That is a bigger jackass move than Steve-o getting fed to the sharks
Not Yellowstone, but clueless for sure:

Worst part is dude probably thinks he did good. Shooing a large bear like it's a small dog, taking a swipe without budging. Granted once he was cornered between the gate and the grill he didn't have much choice other than stand his ground...
Bear probably thought he was getting pranked, or was so confused at the level of stupidity of the guy he decided to leave him be.

What has alway puzzled me is how animals that could easily kill a human run from us or obey us--not just bears but horses, cattle, working elephants. OK, bears don't usually run away, they amble, as in "I'm not afraid of you bro but you're annoying me." And not just from humans. Watched a video last night of caribou panicked by wolves running desperately until the wolves get the laggard--when they could easily stomp the wolves if they got organized. It's almost like they evolved to get eaten so they don't overpopulate.
Sounds like what humans need to be.
Naw, just culled by predators.
Actually, bears behave differently in areas where they are and are not hunted.
Brown bears in Alaskan wildlife refuges amble around in the open. In Kamchatka, you won't see many bears doing that. Bears in Kamchatka are ruthlessly hunted for the Chinese medicines trade.
There used to be mega fauna all over North America that did not fear man. Stone Age humans armed with big spears ate most of them.
