Per suggestion elsewhere. Could be heat or water stressed, but after driving through Colorado to home the other day, there are trees turning and lower temps, along with a bunch these guys blowing around:

We've got some insane temps coming in around Northern Alberta this week but the trees are turning yellow real fast. Poplar dropping their shit everywhere. I give it 3 weeks before full effect.

And in another Turn, turns out 23/24 is the 20th anniversary of Moonlight Basin Ski Resort (RIP).
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

I'm not arborist, but I'd guess that some species mark the change by hours of daylight and not only by temperature.

No turn yet in So Cal. Coming into the hottest 3 weeks of the year in all likely hood.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

Put a winter hat on this morning for the first time, picked up new ski boots after work today. The heat is over here, Sept is basically here. The turn is happening.

Yes it is coming but it’s fucking August you stupid fuck. Give it two months. Again, brain worms. People drill holes in skis 365 days a year but doesn’t mean it’s gonna snow.

Apples falling, been raking leaves for a couple weeks, high temps in the low to mid 60’s, cloudy, rain in forecast. The turn is here in the Cascade foothills.
