38 in Silverthorne this AM!
Got a foot up high mid last week and the mountain announced opening day mid November
Sitting in my tune room now just watching some ski porn and cleaning up the bench so I can pull the summer wax off the old boards. Looking forward to cooler days and sooner than later some flakes falling from the sky. So ready for the turn so that me and the fam-bam can go make some turns! Cheers and Think Snow!
I used to eat a lot of natural foods until I learned that most people die of natural causes.

Suppose to be 85 on Friday which means the AC is on. Your right, no 100 degree days yet this year but I am sure we have a had a 75 degree night or two in Coronado.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
Sitting on our front porch right now, feeling/hearing/watching Seattle's first cold front of the season arrive. It is a little early for this sort of thing, but the wind is perking up as I type. For me, this'll be the second Turn of the year; the first storm.
Gutters are clear, roof is clean. Here's to soaking rains and the swing of the pendulum.
First raindrops of the storm are landing and the trees gently swaying as the gusts mix down.
Edit to add an image of the first snow in months on Tahoma, following the storm: https://www.instagram.com/p/CUEgUBOrV2P/

Riding through the Upacompaghre National Forest last week, some of the tops of the aspens were starting to turn.
I suspect another two weeks here in the PNWet and we'll see it.
While I'm stoked for skiing and snow, I'm not looking forward to the five months of gray, wet and gloom here in the valley. I'll take a nice, long, warm fall thankyouverymuch

Ok, looked a lot like Forest Park
government gonna let you guys ski this year?
Please God, give me just a hint, I love the sun and it's life giving light and heat but how many 100+ days must we endure?
It's turning here in the PNW, first significant rain of fall last night.

Felt, the feeling not the fabric.
Nice photo Buster, I would honestly rather be there than here hiding in the house with the AC on. I can't stand the sun on me when it is 80+ outside. September is always hottest in SoCal.

The hardware store has snowblowers sitting in front and the coffee shop next door has their fall pumpkin drinks out. I wish it wasn't 80 to 90 this week but I'll take it!
Last night in the PNW was the first in eight weeks that was cool enough to sleep with the windows closed (don't have AC)
Jelly Fish have arrived in the sea... warmer waters, cooler temps - dipping into the 50's overnight
I am not in your hurry
