Maybe, but not in this crowd. We like chargers that can rip a firm groomer as well as charge variable. No matter the layup, the wrens deep rocker and stiff layup did not engage well in firm conditions (and I owned the wren 88.) Powder charger, sure, but I have goats for pow.

On3p is a park ski company. They know their market and must capitalize on that. I get it and I hope they’re successful.

As an old dude that skis his ON3P's 75-80% of the time, skis 0 park and gives 0fuks about groomerz, I'm gonna say they're just a ski company! Park skis are their breadnbutter

I agree— ON3P is a park ski company. And I wish them success. Jibbers need their cult, too.

Fellow old-guy here that only skis ON3P. I have refined my quiver to Jeffrey or BG shapes. Have Jeffrey 108’s for DD work, Jeffrey 118’s for soft snow fun (my Caylor’s went to Tuco). I also have Cease & Desist’s for soft snow slaying, these are the fat Goat asym shape. Also have Billy Goat Tour 108’s for BC use. The Jeffrey platform does everything I need/want on most days inbounds. On piste and off. I don’t do park, so that element means less than nothing to me.

    Sorry but no.

Salomon? Head? K2? Pretty fucking obvious and comprehensible to the general public.

I wear my t-shirt regularly “ON3P SKI CO” and routinely get asked how to pronounce the brand. That must be intentional. It’s insider information that appeals to a specific group of skiers, new school park skiers to be precise. Its a little club and they’re insular and not open to outsiders. I’m sure they have their reasons. That is iggy’s market and he’s focused on it. Good for him, but to pretend that isn’t the case is disingenuous.

Meh, "park" was the wrong word. I should have said progressive. I mean no disrespect. I know they're bomber skis. The rocker profiles just don't match my style of skiing, which is a dying breed. FWT is showing us how the sport is evolving... turning massive faces into terrain parks. I get it. I respect it. That's the only point I was trying to make.

    Carry on.

progressive is a good word, off piste centric another.

I do think skis like the woodsman-series should have a fairly broad appeal though, broader than the brand recognition meme mentioned above or freestyle swervefest label give them credit for. On could argue that Salomon has been shifting their wider QST offerings / 98/106/112 offerings closer to something like the woodsmans - relatively short contact points, lots and lots of gradual rocker leading to high rise splay and damp, but lively constructions. It could be that the woodsmans would benefit from a partial titanal laminate underfoot, or slightly less splay / longer cambered sections for even more low / hard / light&dry snow prowess, but the denser the snow the more people should get on with them really well imho. That the construction is bomber, the build quality top notch and the graphics can cater to a wide set of preferences at least supports that take on the series imho.

    ON3P SKIS Discussion

However one may bucket their approach, it’s working. When was the first commercial run, 2007? Good 16 year run of the Wren, in many forms. I’ve gotten a few friends on ON3P and all have been stoked although the Wren did over power some of them. Woodsman seem to more easily appeal to a broader audience but they are by no means a Type II ski either. This has been said too many times but I will say it again in tribute: I never found the more modern Wren runs to be overly demanding. Fall line craving, better at speed …. yep, but the tail rocker makes them easy to shut down and drift as necessary. Haven’t completely figured out the Woodsman but it’s probably because I always reach for the Wren. Anyone on the fence, get on this final run. It’s a rewarding and fun ski for fast fall line seeking skiers. Guessing the hold their value pretty well in GS for the foreseeable future worse case.

Im gonna snag a pair, cause if i stopped hoarding skis I’ll lose my nonexistent TGR street cred and cause wrens 110’s fit the bill for a west coast daily charger

Right on! I wish I could justify the 110 Pro. East coast reality check. Conditions rarely justify the 108 given the proficiency of the 102. 96 most appropriate 80% of the time. I dream of that 110 in big mountain chalky or wind buff space.

This is why we have quivers! I don’t need multiple pow skis above a 120 waist but I do, I also don’t need need another directional charger. Its for the one off day when conditions present themselves!

But I really like 110 and would like a backup in the Chance something happens. With the wren disappearing it probably wouldn’t hurt to grab a 102 as well. I cleaned the quiver up this year and have lots of empty spots on the wall, worse comes to worse I have a handful of mediocre days on them and resell for half of what I paid and some other mag gets a smile on their face cause they really click with the ski.

Anyone have good pics of the clear topsheets? I’m thinking about a “raw” look on a custom build but can’t find decent pics. Thanks

We did make some in stock custom Jeffrey 110 with clear tops, base, tipspacer, and sidewalls that get that air tip action on...they are a big pain in the ass for production, though, so kept those clear bases off the custom builder for now.

    Thank you Kid-kapow!
The TGR search is kind of worthless. I’m looking to build a Wren ti and I think it’s going to be awesome to see the titanal/carbon stringers/wood layup through the clear topsheet!

Fresh new batch of Factory Finds. Lots of longer lengths in the new batch, as well as a fair few remaining in sizes for lighter peeps, be it manly shredders, kiddies or wives - happy times

I think they've said the Woodsman is by far their biggest seller.

I have 3 pairs of 2012 191 wrens and one pair of the new 186 pro. I LOVE the 191 and they were my daily drivers for years. I even wore out one of the pairs (edge finally separated from the ski). I thought I wouldn't love the 186 as much, but I have been skiing it a whole lot (and they replaced the 191 this year as my daily driver) and I agree that it may be the best wren ever. Super stable at speed but you can also lay those things over when you want to. Incredibly fun ski...I'm strongly considering picking up another pair before they sell out...Ill probably throw the cast system on them next year to have a backcountry spring line charger.

Out of curiosity, what’s your height and weight? I’m 6’2” but 160lbs. I’ve been worried by the 186 length.

I have 189cm Wren 114’s that are my favorite ski of all time but I struggle to see going shorter.

The 186 wren 110 is more ski than the 189 wren114 so I wouldn’t worry, less rockered tail and a bit stiffer makes them more demanding and longer feeling.
The wren114 is a freaking amazing ski though, I really wish Scott would bring that back, even if it’s less “wren” in my eyes.

    6,1 190lbs btw

    Got it.

Yeah the 114 is stable but a really easy ski to move around. Really not a directional charger at all, pretty playful fit a bit ski. I’m curious about the 110 for sure it’ll probably be those or some tour goats next fall..

I am 6'3 and 240#. They felt a bit short for about 2 days of skiing, but once I got used to them, they started kicking all kinds of ass and inspiring a ridiculous level of confidence

I wouldn't worry about the length if you like the shape.
