Aggressive (but getting older), former level 3 ski instructor, don’t ski switch or huck cliffs but do like to pop off side hits and the occasional run through the park, comfortable driving the shovel or skiing centered depending on conditions/terrain, prefer steeps and skiing fast in all conditions.
Skis I do and have gotten along with: Moment DW112, Commander 98, OG ON3P Billy Goats, Volkl Gotama, Rossi Squad 7
    Skis I didn't: Moment DW104, M-Free 108, Rossi Soul 7 HD, Nordica Enforcer 104, Volkl 100Eight

    Mt Rose Ski Tahoe
    8-14” of cold smoke.

    Easy to ski, very intuitive
Really reminds me of a narrower BG, albeit w/ waaaay less tip taper
Skied well w/ a centered stance everywhere and I could drive the tips in boot deep without feeling like I was going over the bars.
Driving the tips too hard in deeper snow “could” cause tip dive, but they definitely planed well for a ski of this width and the snow depth, likely due to the wide tip profile and despite the lack of taper.
They held a solid line wherever I pointed them, even through 30” drifts, full disclosure this was during the magical “best days ever” two weeks when the snow was blower (for Tahoe).

    Palisades Tahoe/Alpine Meadows
Mix of skied off/firm, refrozen and soft winter snow

These really want to run, seemed to seek the fall line and accelerate super quickly.
Not really easy to slarve or pivot; not impossible, but they reward strong movements and good technique. I’ll probably mess around w/ a more aggressive tail detune to help w/ this.
Decent in the bumps for the size/construction. Tail is stiff enough to punish backseat in the bumps, but not ridiculous.
Felt balanced in the air and solid on landings. I'll leave it to the real huckers to weigh in on how they handle backslap landings off 20 footers.
Decent edgehold, but not as solid as my DW112. My pair needed a tune so standby for an update on this… Very composed at speed, I didn't find the top end limit on groomers.
Good suspension/stability, able to blow through stuff/crud w/o getting kicked around, never felt like the mountain was skiing me.
Same/similar core to DW104 which I didn't get along with, but works well here...

Bottom line: Just as advertised a blend of the Wildcat 108 and the Commander 108. They are playful when you want them to be and all business when you want to wail on them.
I'm looking forward to trying them out in some corn next couple weeks as I think they will really shine in the sunny, wide open back bowls that the Sierra is famous for.
If you see me at Palisades/Mammoth/Rose feel free to hit me up for a more in depth discussion over a beer.
Great review. Unfortunately it now seems like I need to get a pair.

    How about a real measurement?
I just picked up a Countach 110 188cm demo from Moment Factory today...and they're generously letting me ski it for an extended "5-day weekend".

Feel free to request some on-snow testing tasks, or measurements, or photos, or whatever questions you might have. I'd offer some A/B Testing, but the other skis in my car are not especially relevant for comparing to the Countach (unless anyone thinks a 2013 Bibby 190cm is an interesting comparison). I just demo-ed the Deathwish 112 190cm for 2 days, so maybe I can compare the Countach to that for you...

After 2 visits to the Moment Factory, I must say: The people there really go above and beyond for customers. ...even offered me a beer before I took the factory tour...and even gave me a free base repair and full tune on my old 2013 Bibbys. This is the type of company you want to support. And definitely visit their Factory if you're ever in the Reno area.

Just curious why you like the regular Dw and not the 104?

Nice offer, what I haven't done yet is ski it in front of the line. Move it to +2 and report back; wondering if that will make it more playful?

Honestly, I can't really put my finger on it... I LOVE the DW112 and was hoping for a scaled down version. It just doesn't ski the same. I chalk it up to the core and mount point (duh). Some seem to love it; I just didn't. Not horrible, just prefer other skis. Any place I would ski it I would prefer the C98 or the Countach.

This is something I am also interested in. Would love to know what on the line vs +2 feels like. Really, how do the tails release?

    How about a real measurement?
Here are some real measurements from this morning (mixed in with some manufacturer's stated numbers):

    2023-24 Moment Countach 110 188cm
Measured Tip-to-Tail Length (straight tape): 186.4 cm
Stated Weight per Ski: 2135 grams (from https://www.momentskis.com/collectio...s/countach-110 )
Measured Weight per Ski: ~2113g & ~2172g (after subtracting 1275g, intending to account for the Tyrolia Attack2 AT 13 Demo bindings)
    Stated Dimensions: 140-110-130 mm
Stated Sidecut Radius (188 cm): 21.0 meters
Measured Traditional Camber Underfoot: ~4mm per ski
    Stated EffectiveEdgeLength of sidecut: 152.5cm
Measured RunningLength of base contact (decambered): 104cm

Measured RunningLength of base contact (NOT decambered): ~109cm
Measured Tip & Tail Rocker Length (NOT decambered): ~43cm / ~34cm

Measured Factory Recommended Mount Point Mark: -7.9 cm from true center

My initial reaction to those measurements is:
For a ski design with stated intent to be "between" a Wildcat and a Commander, the Countach's RunningLength is still quite short, so I'm guessing the Countach will still be plenty playful (unless you negate that with a very aft-ward mount position). We'll see.

I will post some photos later.

Happy to test +2cm, but probably not today (Day1 of 5).

Wish it was a bit longer as I don't want to step up to 194, but everything else is really making me interested in this one. I love my C108s but miss some of the playful nature of the MFree 108. If it can keep the top end of the C108 but bring in some Wildcat, it sounds about perfect.

If you had to guage, where on the spectrum between Wildcat and Commander does it lie? 60/40 Commander/Wildcat?

60/40 is a pretty good way to describe the ratio; maybe even a touch more Commander biased. The core skis a bit different than the metal in the commander but the stiffness on snow feels equivalent (IMHO).

I still want a ghost train with the flat spot underfoot and triple camber. 126mm waist for the 194 I think?

    Yeah. That sounds nice

You keep making it sound better and better. Was hoping for 65-70/30-35 commander Wildcat split and it sounds like it's there. May need to sell my new set of MFrees in my garage. Dangit. I thought I was done buying skis this year.

Just ordered my first pair of Moments off ski burger! Some 174 DW104s for AZ skiing and CO trips.

Any recommendations for bindings? Hearing some good things about Strive 14s which should be plenty for me at 168 cm/150 lbs

Thanks you for your reviews and thank you Vitamin I!
Surprised someone over 6' and 220lbs didn't find them ski playful or maneuverable at all.
Hoping to hear how it does in trees.
Eventually I'll probably get a pair. Length sounds spot on for me along with the rest of it. Maybe with some Shifts I'll actually do some pre/post season laps? Idk. Doesn't sound particularly light, but doesn't sound particularly heavy either.
    No longer stuck.

    Are you fat shaming me!?
They are not as playful or maneuverable as the Wildcat 108 or DW... Not a bad thing, just a consideration.

Question for Moment: did the freeride spacer change between the Voyager 14 (V14) and V12/16?

My V14s do not have "wings" that are on either side of the freeride spacer, but these new V16s and another pair of V12s both have these outboard wings. They allow the heel's sliding AFD to move outboard on a track. The V14 has the same movement, just no outboard track. Or is there something wrong here and I'm gunna die??

They made a V2 of the freeride spacer due to slider failures on v1. Much more robust.

Ah sweet - hope that explains it! It's not pictured on the Voyager product page, but that explanation makes sense.

Posted in blem thread but may get more traction here:

Really want to the deathwish 112 in a 184 but it's sold out. I'm 5'10", 200 lbs, and think the 190 is too much. I'm not the greatest skier and like a lighter ski for swinging it in trees and tighter spots.

Anyone have any thoughts on going with the Deathwish 112 184 tour instead for an inbounds ski?

Punches above its weight and I definitely still wouldn’t do it in the PNW. Could probably get away with it in Japan, but then you’d need a bigger ski.

It’s awesome on tours. Good landing platform. Doable but not ideal.

Utah? I dunno. Getting slapped around by the terrain always sucks.

I'd go 190 and wouldn't even consider the tour ski for a daily inbounds ski. I'm 6 zero 165 and on my third pair of 190 deathwish. I liked the. Mounted plus 2. I've never thought if only I had a shorter ski.

Commanders are cut from the lineup next year. End of an era.

They say nothing is sacred, but we’re about to test that theory.

When next season rolls around, you’re going to see some changes. And while there will still be hard-charging, directional skis in the lineup, well…let’s just say that the few remaining Commander 98s and 108s we have in stock are about to become collector’s items.

As you’re reading this, others are freaking out. Our advice to you is to take this opportunity to scoop up one (or both) of these legends while they’re not looking.

The Commander 98 is more on the traditional all-mountain side, perfect for ripping Western windbuff, speed-testing groomers, or making East Coast resorts weep in your presence. It’s stiff, it’s confident, it’s faster than you, and it’s willing to prove it.

The Commander 108 is a true big-mountain comp ski that’s been tenderized just slightly for daily use. If you want a ski that says “point it, dummy” when your other skis would be screaming “SLOW DOWN, WE’RE GONNA DIE!” then this is your huckleberry.

Both are a lot of ski if you’re used to many of the rockered skis on the market, including ours. We recommend looking at the effective edge of your current skis and finding the closest match in the Commander, even if it sounds short, and even if you plan to mount them forward. If you prefer to go with your current ski length, that’s fine, too. But buckle up.

Or maybe there is just a new version of the Commander that is a different design/shape?

    New collection goes live 8/1.
