Oh shit! I just got a pair of Commanders and now want Countach and probably want to get whatever you are dropping in August...

With the initial on snow countach reviews I’d be willing to guess it’s going to be something along the lines of a wrengade 102 with the feel of a commander(more precise)

Same here. Just got on the Commander 108 and looking at the 98 plus Countach. A lot of great skis out there right now.

Anyone have any thoughts on going with the Deathwish 112 184 tour instead for an inbounds ski?
I have both the DW and DWT at 184. The DWT is great in untracked and a really nice touring ski, but there's no comparison to the full weight one for inbounds skiing. For inbounds or 50/50 (or even any significant resort time) go full weight.

I think you would be fine on the longer ski, particularly if you normally ski on longer skis....

.....but I wouldn't recommend sizing up in general. The DW isn't 'a hard charger. It's playful, and easy to ski in tight spaces. If you size up, you might lose a bit of the magic. The 190 might be the right size for you, we all have different preferences, but sounds like your gut is saying 184.

That guess sounds pretty damn close the rumor I heard, while I was standing inside the Moment Factory, listening to a Moment employee talking to me. (No idea if that employee was Melee or not.)

I’m just gonna have to have both in the quiver regardless of overlap. As the skis say ”Overkill is Underrated.”

I don’t know much, but I do know there will be metal in the new ski.

Missed this when you posted last week but do not be afraid of the 190. Full tip and tail rocker make it very approachable. The DW isn't very stiff at 200 lbs.

I'm an inch taller and the same weight as you and I ski the 190. No way I'd want to go shorter unless I was skiing on the east coast in tighter trees.

+1 on the DW length... The 190 is very nimble and playful for the width.

If anyone has ridden the Sender Free 110 and the Countach, I would love to hear a comparison. Those two have similar dimensions - at least on paper.

    Sender Free:
    140.1-111.5-132.6 mm
    22m radius
mount is -3.6 cm from center

    Countach
    140/110/130
    22.5m radius
mount is -8 cm from center

A buddy was raving about his Sender Free 110s, and they did look like playful stomp-machines. The similarity of dimensions and intentions for these skis struck me - but I was also really surprised the Sender was so center-mounted. Thinking about an eventual replacement for Rustler 11s.

ETA: melee, the Countach dims in a touring layup...would be suhhhweeeet!

    Moment Skis Discussion

Does anyone have a line on some 190 Wildcat tours? Moment is sold out and I’m interested in seeing if anyone has a pair squirreled away.

I had a pair for sale, but they are gone! My DWT are my one and only touring ski for the time being.

How do all the new Commanders ski compared to different generations of Belafontes?

    More days on the Countach...
    Mammoth Mountain
    Mt Rose
Variable spring conditions from frozen early morning to mank

Skied +1.75cm from recommended line (shooting for +2, but this is where 3 clicks of the demo binders landed me).
Immediately more able to engage the side cut by tipping the ankle
Recommended required a more aggressive release, i.e. cross over or cross under movement to get into the new edge early and strongly.
NOTICEABLY and surprisingly more stable at recommended, far more than the minor mount movement would suggest.
Also better able to plow through stuff on the line.
Once again, this is not a particularly demanding ski at either mount point, but I think the playfulness and maneuverability benefited in moving the mountain point forward, albeit with the stability and top end suffering a bit.
    As always YMMV...

I know there was some chatter up thread about the Sierra Tour, but any chance Moment would make that ski in a stiffer flex and offer some longer lengths… please!!!! I’ve been on some Atomic Backland 100s for spring with the little boots and they’re fine, but I can’t help but pine for men’s Sierra Tour. Seems like a slam dunk with a similar flex as a DW tour and Sierra dimensions in say a 182, 184ish…
Gotta be a market for this ski…
