Similarly, the Countach 110’s recommended mount point of -8 cm from center splits the difference between the Wildcat (-6) and Commander (-10). While the Countach 110 doesn’t feature the metal layers of the Commanders, it does use their heavier poplar / beech wood core, and is designed to be a bit more damp and stable than the Wildcat 108, but more maneuverable and forgiving than the Commander 108

A bit weird that this info originates first at Blister and not in this thread, but whatever.

Reposting from last page: I skied them last Saturday.

I had two runs on them at Alta, did a ballroom to groomer then a low gate backside to glitch and glitch to the whippies today.

This ski is great. It’s got the DW104 core, deeper tip rocker, and some tail rise. More than commander less than wc/dw. Easy turn initiation, much lighter than a C108. Friend had both in 182, and the new ski, known as the countach is softer than the C108. I think it’s softer than my wildcats, at least in the tip. Mount point is -8, compared to the commander -10 and WC/DW -6. I think I could get along really well with this in whatever the longer size will be, 182 is just a hair short for me. Didn’t feel quite as poppy as my dw and wildcats do, but, only got two runs.

Some words that come to mind as I skied them and was skiing with friends on them "intuitive" "easy to ski" "able to charge" Goldilocks might be the right word.
I own 190 WC 116 and 190 DW104. I'll be seriously contemplating selling my WC and buying these, running a CAST system, and having one ski to handle travel duties.

This new ski sounds like a fun companion to a chipotle banana for a 2 ski quiver for someone who doesn’t like anything skinny.

From the Blister Summit rundown "Moment had two new skis at the Summit: the brand-new Countach 110 and the new 196 cm length of the Wildcat.......Moment also has some other new things coming that they weren’t quite ready to unveil at the Summit and that we can’t talk about quite yet. Stay tuned…"

....wonder what else it could be? Countach ~100?

Just pulled the trigger on a pair of 2017/18 Bibbys- After getting a pair of 184 DWTs, I'm stoked to pick up these for deep days at Silverton, T-ride, and CB...

Those countcahes look amazing. BUT after 20 years in Tahoe and now back in vt I’m loving the dw 104 and would love a 190 DW 96. Seems like it makes more sense than a wildcat 101 which is a skinny looser west coast ski. Give the DW line a younger brother please.

Feel like a 180-182 Deathwish 96 would be an amazing low-tide ripper all over the mountain for me. Would probably buy that in a second.

Not a lot of info out and about right now, but any advice on the Countach sizing. 6'2 220lbs here.....not sure if it skis short and can't decide between 188 and 194. Going to CAST it up.

Without knowing anything about it, if 6’2”/220 doesn’t qualify you to be on the longest length, then I’m really questioning who they’re designing for.

I’m 6’ 210 before ski gear and skied the 182, will buy 188, no word on if there will be a 194 from what I’ve heard.

Saw it listed on the sizes in the brochure the shop had today.

I think it was like an extra 4m turn radius too lol

Woof, that seems pretty large, even without metal. I even liked the 182 on the hard snow day I tried them on. 188 should be perfect

Yes please. If this is anywhere on the horizon, I'll hold my current search for these.

Re countach sizing, while having zero actual info on the ski:

It sounds like the main reasons to pick that over a commander mounted +1 or +2 would be for lighter weight and/or a little more agility...

If you size up to the 190+ you're kinda giving up both of those benefits, just to gain more top end?

But if you need more top end than the 188, maybe you oughta be on a commander anyway?

someone can school me on why I'm wrong, I'm sure.

    yes, I read that.

My comment was not aimed at other mags, but the fact that joe schmoe CB resident was able to get info on any new ski from the guys at Moment before a thread dedicated to Moment started by and filled with enthusiast of the brand.

But anyway, I am sure that Melee or another Moment dude will chime in at some point, so I am looking forward to it. I am sure they have their hands full, which is a good thing

    ^^^Doesn't seem weird to me.

We're still a dark little corner of the ski world, and also one where a lot of misinformation can get spouted before things are released...and then that wrong info can turn up page-1 when people search.

Blister drives a lot of people to the brand so their venue getting first eyes/boots on a new product makes sense to me.

If I were the CEO I wouldn't be dripping out pre-public product info here unless I was also prepared to constantly be correcting/replying to make sure people (non-mags) who land here inadvertently get accurate info. That's a lot of overhead for someone with a company to run.

Sorry TGR didn't get picked first on our kickball team this time.

We typically like to keep most developments under wraps until the website drops with new product...typically around 8/1.

We went to a ski test and brought some new stuff. There are also some other new ski developments we haven't released yet. We might post about them here, we might wait until the new website.

    Only time will tell...

Not a huge DIYer when it comes to ski maintenance mostly because I don't have the space (small apartment in a ski town). So I couldn't for the life of me figure out what the heck was wrong with my brand new Wildcat 108s - they were rad in anything soft but the second I got them on hardpack they dragged tail and just felt like garbage. Thought maybe high edge? Detune? What could it be? Got them edged, detuned, a couple times but stoner ski techs couldn't figure it out. Finally went to a real shop in town and asked him to put a flat bar against 'em. He said it's likely they felt like this cause they have no bevel and are completely flat - he edged em with a bevel and I guess we'll find out tomorrow if that fixes the issue. Is this normal? Also apparently my older gen Big Cats are slightly concave.
