Invite her over for tea. That should cheer her up.

There is no way a man wealth and means such as yourself walked through that door, no way. Looks like a a good place to score some Persian white though.

Of all the stupid things you've posted here, this has got to be in the running for a prize.

Huh? That whole town needs to be nuked from orbit. Disgusting place upstate is. And as for you, how many days did you ski this winter?
That’s what thought. Get off the couch fat boy.

Skied zero. Been off the couch as much as my back issues will allow, thanks for asking. Started swimming because riding the spin bike was exacerbating my foot issues. Any idea if anyone makes 4E bike shoes? I need an actual bike shoe to reduce met flex especially on the upstroke, according to my doctor. I've never owned any because I've never found ones that fit. With the snow gone I get out on the HS track for some Nordic walking. The rubber surface helps a lot At least I have a plan.

And what the fuck, saying an actual place where actual people live should be nuked? Fuck you regarding that. Invite your neighbors over for tea and relax a little. NH must be a miserable place full of miserable people. I'd rather live in Upstate than NH.

Oh no, the upstate is under attack. What will we do?
And, btw, this isn’t the first time we were threatened with nuking. I remember when I was a kid in Menands, everybody said we’d at least go quick when WW3 happened cause the ruskies would target the Watervliet arsenal in the first wave. They had to cut off the supply of howitzer barrels and whatnot. Who would ever think of nuking New England? I mean, why bother? Did Khrushchev ever even hear of Conway? I doubt it but you can bet your ass there was a pin on the map for Watervliet.

We’ve spent a lot of time in this thread arguing about where Upstate begins but has there been any discussion on where it ends? Road trip last week led us down the Northway to 88, 86 and then onto back roads in PA. It probably wasn’t until we got to the flat farm land in Ohio that I felt I wasn’t upstate anymore.

On the return we were on 90 and instead of my usual 90 to Amsterdam, over to Ballston Spa and up the Northway I tried the route suggested by both Apple and Google maps. Got off at 365 in Rome and then route 8. Ended up being a really nice ride and much more enjoyable than staying on the thruway. Never got stuck in slow traffic and it took the same amount of time to get home. Great scenic tour of the upstates.

Hence my Eastern Upstate references. They're not only to irritate riser I sort of agree but the Pennsyltucky influence on the Southern Tier and interior WNY is palpable making the distinction more difficult.

It's all good. I've already ceded south of US 4 to NY and MA.

Same for us in the southern tier - Seneca Army Depot. Had an aunt in Elmira that used to say "when the sirens go off, meet me in Ovid because I want it over quick"

I visited a young dad who had moved his kids and wife to T-berg from Westchester Co because "NYC will get the first nuke hit" . Still feel bad that I told him about Sampson. The look on his face.
