I remember when Camelback didn't allow skiers in the park.

I remember getting big red x’s on my ticket there for jumping. Get two x’s and you got a timeout with a safety video shown of how to be a courteous skier.
I started skiing Blue Mountain and didn’t have an issue.

    Kids.

Unfortunately the trailer does not do the film justice.

The trailer is lacking the rape and the skateboard beat down and the drugs.

Kids was unforgettable. And not because it was Rosario Dawson's first film IIRC.

Another controversial film of the time was Happiness. Better critical reception but not mentioned as much.

Right? Jarring to this “kid” at the time. As was its sister project Gummo.

Fun fact, the junked-out inmate that Matt Damon sees in lockup when he’s making his one free call in Good Will Hunting is Kids director/writer Harmony Korine.

Not sure you can claim that as 90s other than the movie itself. It was written in 1979 about growing up in NYC mid 70s. The music from Carroll's punk band was peaking 80-83. Agree that Damon was excellent in both that and Good Will Hunting.

I don't seem to recall Kids being a glorification of 90's youth, or an accurate portrayal for the majority. Unless you think the majority were taking copious amounts of drugs and raping.

I don't think it was either, nor was Gummo a portrayal of how life was in all of rural/Appalachia.

Kids was a view into a world that did exist in some place, I just know it wasn't in my place.

Enough to be unsure whether AK was talking about The Basketball Diaries being 90s or Matt Damon being 90s. Do you got any good dick pics for this condition?

It was a 90’s movie. We’re talking the 90’s here guys.

Kind of tagging along on the 90’s movie theme of roving gangs of drugged up parentless white kids finding themselves.

Definitely describes what I experienced in mid to late 80s in BTV. But ours was a much smaller, mellower version with a VT hippie flavor mixed with skate punk.

It wasn't either. It was a film about a subculture in the NYC area. Definitely a minority and the ultra violence is a film style that a minority of people are into. So it was never mainstream and more of a cult classic.

It just so happens it mirrored by experience in life in the early 90s. They used a lot of local kids as extras when they filmed. Fairly authentic to what we were up to as drugs, clubs, sex, absence of parenting, and cheap transportation around a major city gained us.

    1991 film set to '80s retrowave released in 2014. Don't @ me.

Also, Connelly. JFC. Reminds me of young Boobs Malone.

    JFC is right.

Spot on with Boobs Malone, I think it was that ribbed tank top look that was so hot in the 90s.

This one popped into my head the other day for some strange reason and it transported my mind straight back to peak 90s. ...sigh.... good times.
