Blossom's house brand for certain, I don't know if other brands have used the 120 or 99 molds from them. Both of those shapes entered Blossom's line about 10 years ago and haven't changed since... cause you know... why change stuff that is super dialed! haha
edit to add, I do change them up by construction, rocker/camber, etc. but I use their cassette molds on the R87, R99, R120
Cheers, I just really love that other people than Marshal and myself are into our idea lunacy!

Just a lurker for now, but loving the reviews, and very curious how people are finding the R120s. Has me feeling nostalgic for the years (mid 2000s) I spent on Head Super Mojos.

My R120 AMs showed up this week, waiting on bindings to arrive. I'll likely post thoughts in the dedicated thead here:

(Though you might be more curious about reviews of the Comp build?)
There may be something in the next month or so to alleviate that kind of nostalgia.

”UPDATE TIME!
CARBON AND FREERIDE SKIS
- The order has shipped. I expect it to deliver to me Thursday (the 19th) of next week.
- I aim to turn around and ship all open orders for the 132 and 113 shapes by the end of the weekend.
- Please let me know by replying to this email, if either you have a trip right around then, so I can get the order out same day, with expedited shipping... or if you are out of town, and need me to hold the order til you get home.
RACEROOM COMP BUILDS
- These should begin production next week.
- I will follow up with delivery timings as soon as I have them, currently expecting them to be shipping to everyone in ~4 weeks.
I will also be updating the specs and suggested mount lines on the site, specifically to indicate the SKI WAIST on each model and flush in a few more specifics on each shape. Please ping me any time with questions on this stuff. Love to talk it through.
Many thanks and kind regards!”
Getting antsy for my R87 Comps, event though with all of the snow this year I have no need for them.
Should have known those Italians would be a bit late.
Thanks Man!
Looking alot like a fatter version of the 110mm "Mod" ski that I just ordered test of!
I mentioned in the FL113 thread about a +1cm FL113 and I just realized that that would basically be the exact same dimensions as the well loved, and discontinued, BMT 122...

Somewhat late reply - the bmt94 is one ski that I would definitely buy and probably buy multiple of. Full subtle rocker at 94 underfoot is incredibly versatile- ripped some big lines and skied terrible snow competently on those things. The layup is absolutely essential to why that ski worked, though. I was super stoked to see sterbenz/ wndr alpine make that shape, but they didn’t make it light…
On the 122 (which I tour on whenever there’s fresh and are starting to fall apart on me after 6 years) - isn’t the chipotle banana pretty close to an inbounds 122? Again the layup is what makes this a killer touring ski, really don’t think the qualities that make it exceptional will translate into a heavy layup. I love it cus you can noodle it OR lay down huge tracks in the alpine - not gonna work w a different flex pattern. Or if it does I’d be very interested!!
Fwiw current plan to replace the 122 is a carbon protest. Not the same big face ability but probs more fun in below treeline

A good description of where this ski I envision ended up:
- Width and rocker profile of a Rustler “12”
- Taper/shorter effective edge of a Spur
- Weight of a Spur
- Sidecut radius between a Rustler and Spur
(That’s where I seem to have ended up, even though I didn’t start with that as my intention.)
Goal is a ski with that has notably more float and is looser than an R11, with enough weight that it won’t fall apart in soft chop, and not total shit on a groomer back to the lift.
Maybe what I've got rolling around in the back of my mind is a VW Katana that's 122 under foot. And yeah, BMT 94's are awesome. 94's are significantly stiffer than my BMT 109's and, surprise surprise, have a very similar flex and rocker as a VW Katana. I was shocked how similar they were when I put them up along side a pair of 191 VWK's. There really is some magic in that BMT-V Werks family
