But recently I found a pair of 186 Exit Worlds and decided to give them look over the holidays. Tahoe was blessed with deep days over the past month. I put these through everything from several inches of fresh, boot deep pow, sun-baked crust on pow, and a surprise waist deep pow day. These skis have blown my expectations. The extra rocker and taper has been a dream in powder. They float amazing and pivot on a dime. These saved me when I skied a sunbaked crusty pow run by accident. Didn't hook up and kept me from trouble. The width and rocker made the deeper days more fun for me in our denser Tahoe snow. Despite this I felt that I had similar grip to my DWT, even on steeper skin tracks. Graphics are on point as well. Not great on groomers, but that was a means to an end (or rather a backcountry gate). Suffice to say, these are my new DD touring ski.

If Moment every decided to re-release these, snag a pair asap. I'd even recommend maybe shaving a few hundred grams off (mine are 1900g) as it would help on longer days. I promise you'd fall in love too.
Hahahahah. So jealous, I've been looking for a pair of these all winter. Stoked to hear you love them!

These are actually slimmer, lighter Ghost Train version.

Thanks. Was blown away by a reverse/reverse inbounds ski this year. So when these popped up, I had to try them out. Feeling very lucky. Good luck in your search btw. I'll keep an eye out for you.

As a Deathwish Tour owner and fan I’ve been dreaming of a Ghost Train Tour. I’d forgotten they made the Exit World in triple camber for a minute. Such a cool shape.

That being said… DWT floats pretty darn well.

No question about that. The versatility of the DWT has been great.

Mount point question for 190 Deathwish. I am planning to mount some new 190 deathwishes with voyager 16 bindings for use both touring and resort. Moment says stick to the -5 location, which I will probably due. I got some DW 104 for firm and soft resort days and they feel great on their -6 line. Any thoughts on going back 1 to -6 on the regular deathwish, or should I just stick with the recommended line?

You could go back you might be able to lean into the shovel a touch more but my guess is the difference isn't significant enough to merit such a maneuver unless you're a very very directional skier

I have demo bindings on my 190 DW. Factory line > -1. At -1 (-6) the tails had a tendency to skid out on me.

Picked up a pair of Satanic Meridian 181's and trying to figure out where to mount. I'm a directional skier but like surfy, loose skis. Leaning towards -1.5 like the Blister review mentions but wanted to get feedback. For reference, I'm 5'10" 155 lbs and ski a lot of steeps, bumps and tight trees. I have a pair of 2011-12 PB&J 188's mounted on the line, that I love in everything but bumps (a little too long). And Fischer FR 94 181's mounted on the line - also really like how these ski. Plan to use these as a DD on most days.

I'm just about your dimensions and really like my 181cm Meridian Tours at -1cm. Also had 187 Meridians for awhile mounted nearly at true center for hole conflict reasons, and they were pretty fun. Had to get pretty backseat in low angle pow though.

If I were mounting a new pair I'd probably go on the line.

Cool, thanks. Curious, did you use your 187's as a DD or a soft snow ski? Sounds like this could be a fun DD.

On the hunt for some 174 moment deathwish tours if anyone is looking to offload a pair.
Three fundamentals of every extreme skier, total disregard for personal saftey, amphetamines, and lots and lots of malt liquor......-jack handy

Both; they were my only inbounds skis at the time. Really quite fun on all kinds of terrain. I think if I had had 181s and mounted near center, the tips would have felt too short; but on the 187s it was fine. I eventually got tired of leaning back in pow and got some Governors, but I miss the looseness of the Meridians sometimes.

I had some 181s for awhile and the DW 184 has much better float and is surfy, I’d even venture to say more so than the 187 Meridian even. It’s a great ski but not quite as soft snow oriented or versatile as the DW.

Can anyone here compare the latest version of the Commander 98 to other 95-100MM all mountain skis.

Specifically, where would you place it on the energetic/nimble/rebound spectrum when you really work to bend the ski. I have no issues skiing stiff powerful skis but I really like when they launch me out of turn or when I can jam them into the through of a mogul to get some air.

Blister makes them sound like planks but their reviewers are smaller lighter guys so that may play into it? Wondering if anyone has a different perspective. Thanks!

I’ve had 3 pairs (187) of them now and on the line is where I go. Max at moment DD’s these skis and he’s had them mounted +\- on a few and always says to stick to the rec mount. I also DD them and as long it’s not straight ice they are awesome

This review is accurate to my experience after about 10 days on them. I am 6'3 230 and on the 188 for ref.

Haven't had them in bumps, but really a fun ski in everything I've hit them with so far.

I'm the Private Pyle of moguls, I ski bumps like old people fuck.

If these change that then they harnassed some sort of dark energy.

DWT 184- first couple days impressions...

Recently picked up a used pair of these and have toured on them a couple days here in the San Juans. I mounted them 1 cm back from their "mid" mount point. I'm 53, directional skier and generally tour about 40 days per season. I mounted them with Salomon MTNs.

First day on them, snow was high density, 8" of powder and did a couple laps w/about 2k vert of climbing. On the up, the skis were great- for a 112mm ski w/the Salomons, they were light on the feet and climbed great. Terrain we skied was a mix of fairly tight trees and some wide open surfy terrain, consistent snow. The skis were super playful, easy to do short and long radius turns, and really fun!

Second day out we skied 3 laps in blower powder conditions, steep, tight trees and about 5k vertical of climbing total. The combination of the light bindings and the skis was great. Really steep skin track, on high risers every lap-lots of kick turns. I was a little concerned that the highly upturned tails would hinder kick turns, but it wasn't an issue. I'm glad I mounted them back a bit. In the deep snow-roughly 20", the skis did great.

For years I've been a die-hard Voile fan: Insanes, Chargers, Hyper-chargers, Hyper-mantis. I'd considered getting a pair of Hyper-V8s or some DPS Pagoda 112s. I bought the DWTs to replace my Voile Chargers as my main winter touring ski.

I'm glad I went w/the DWTs- super playful ski that is light enough, but also skis great-really easy to make tight or big turns.

Alright Moment fans, I need to replace my beat park skis that I've realized are a bit short after breaking in over a few seasons (Prodigy 2 184s) My daily driver for the past couple years have been Commander 108 188s Debating between Wildcat 101 and DW 104 for lower tide playful/park spot in my quiver (both would be 190s).

Leaning Wildcat over DW just to have less overlap with the C108 as the DW104 seems a bit chargier and heavier, the edge hold on the DW for ripping groomers intrigues me though (have some experience with triple camber on the DW tour).

    Thoughts/opinions on this?

    1. Turn off that dark font, your post is impossible to read.

    2. The DW 104 is definitely not a park ski.

I know this has been said but just had four days at Alta that ran the soft snow spectrum and the Wildcats are so amazingly versatile. If you live in a soft snow area you could legitimately use it as a one-ski quiver. I was on the relatively unloved 19/20 lighter ones that I got from Eluder and they still were great. The shape and geometry is perfect. They were such a blast everywhere from soft groomers to bumps to the hip deep pow day.
