Thanks for trying to jinx it. I like my breeze. Oops did I antijinx?
Right on schedule, September gets hot for us. Great news is October is right around the corner.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
Boise is set to break the mean avg temp for August by 3 deg. That's insane.
The climate is f#$ked up for sure. All the hot weather in Yurp, drying up lakes and rivers world wide is kinda freaking me out.

° your area never had water to begin w. Putting cities in the desert, the chickens will come home to roost, or something like that.

A positive note - my new windows seem to be working as advertised... 90F day out there and the house is at a comfy 71F sans A/C.
Damn, that is great. You have a lot better insulation than our old home does. None in the walls, just in the attic.

This time of year we tend to get nearly 50 degree temp swings between day and night. So with the windows open and a low speed fan, I aim for 55-60 F indoor temp in the morning which slowly creeps up to 68 or so in the afternoon.
It can be disorienting to be working in the yard at 90 F and come in for lunch where’s it’s 60 degrees.
I wish I could do this.
55 - 60 degree indoor temp and my wife would definitely just turn the heat on in the morning.

Yep. I get complaints if I cool it down below mid sixties. I’m impressed by the thermal efficiency of some of your houses though. If I get it down to say 62-65ish inside and the outside temp hits upper 80’s, the house will be 78-80 by late enough in the day that it’s time to open windows again.
I can get the house down to about 6 degrees above the overnight low and shut it down where it stays comfortable unless it gets above 85F.
On a typical 85F day, I can get it down to about 64F in the morning before I shut it down. Some days I get it down to 62F. No complaints from the girl.
These last few years with temps in the 90s for a few days and overnight lows in the low 60s, it' been a challenge. Some days it's 80F in the house at 6pm.
So I just installed a heat pump, replacing an old inefficient electric furnace from 1983.

The other issue with opening my windows at night and cooling down the house is my bedroom blinds and blackout curtains are closed and the bedroom door is shut. So as the rest of the house cools off it prevents my AC from kicking on overnight, and my bedroom is a furnace and can’t sleep.
1st world problems.

Pfft ....... 112 starting Sunday.
Sorry to hear that PB. Not sure our AC would do much with the attic at 120+
