Just heard Baker passed his physical, so apparently he's healed up and ready to go.

Godspeed Baker, we'll see you do some of this week 1 I'm sure.

Sooner fans are glad he won't be wearing orange anymore. I'm hoping me and my Sooner kid can head down to Charlotte and catch a game when he's back on Christmas break.

Also heard the Lincoln radio affiliate of the Browns contract was terminated today too.

At least they still have this there:

I'll anxiously await how State Farm (?) handles his move from his stadium home. Lots of funny ways to take that storyline.

In the other hand, can he really call the new stadium his home before he is the starter?

    It really would write itself.

His new neighbors won't be nearly as interesting though.

Bank of America Stadium needs a LOT of work. Baker should have asked for more money.. But then the total renovations budget is like $50M, so he's getting almost 10% of that..

This. He will forever have a warm welcome back in CLE amongst the fans.

    Kinda like Rajai Davis.

In an odd twist, one of my favorite sports talk radio guys on the CLE station I stream here in ATL, Nick Wilson, left for CLT sports talk 4 years ago, just announced he’s returning to CLE.

Not sure if that was part of the Baker trade or not.

Baker got a playoff win against the Steelers, and so did Tebow. It’d like to be able to make some pithy comparisons, but many of my recollections regarding either game have long since been erased by Iron City Beer therapy. For better or worse, time moves on and memory can be quite selective.

Strikes me that it has got to be a fine line between the degree of self-confidence seemingly required to be an effective NFL quarterback, and the arrogance or delusion that can poison a locker room. Baker was pretty darn electric for a stretch, but might have lost some magic due to the shoulder injury. Tough to recapture momentum and rewrite narratives. Sort of how I sense that Mason Rudolph will never again have the mojo to be an impactful starting QB.

I can root for Baker to find the appropriate balance in Carolina and be both a tenacious competitor and also a competent leader, if only for the massive degree of Schadenfreude. Sam Darnold is probably damaged goods, hopefully Baker wins the starting job.

AFC North football is going to be even more entertaining than usual this coming season, no doubt. We’ll win some, we’ll lose some. Massive amounts of shit will be talked. Can’t wait for the cooler Autumn weather, changing colors of the leaves, and the enjoyment of how an NFL season unfolds. I’m hoping to get Najee on my fantasy team, if I can’t snag Jonathan Taylor first.

If I was a brown’s fan I would be scared that Watson gets a full year suspension

I think the owners are pissed at the guaranteed contract and really want to punish the browns

I heard a stat yesterday that the top two QBs for INTs since 2018 are now both on the Panthers in Darnold and Mayfield.

(Yes, I still wanted Baker as my QB)
Since baker turned pro he has the worst fourth quarter stats in the league

Crazy but I agree with you if you could convince him to play

Don’t get too caught up in those 4th quarter stats. Denver fans legit used to argue Elway was better than Montana because of how many more game winning drives he had and we were like, well no shit, Montana probably didn’t play the final series because his team was up by like 20 points. Crickets on that after the 55-10 Super Bowl beat down.

I like Baker and hope he does well in Carolina. He seems like a genuine good dude.

As you can probably guess, I've been doomscrolling Browns news on the regular.

I just noiticed that when I go to a new Google window and start to type in the search bar, I get to about "clev..." and it pops up the following:

    "Cleveland Browns
Would you like to continue your journey?"

Even google gets it. No, no I would not like to continue my journey, but I guess I will anyway.

The adventure is in the journey, not the destination.

Rumor has it that if Watson gets a one year suspension he's going to sue the NFL. Good luck with that, cum sprayer.

If Browns fans have anything, it’s this.

    It’s always the journey.

    There is no “end destination”.

50% of the wind is due to Lake Erie.
50% is due to the crowd groaning.
