The fact that they couldn't save the 5 that were already dead still haunts everyone to this day.
FWIW, the shooter had a 38 revolver and a pump action shotgun.
Those guys are the good ones.. Knowing what I know about the vest vs high velocity or HV with treated tips cops here aren't paid well enough to be counted on to go storming in against that kind of firepower. Big thumbs up respect to those who do. But, not holding my breath on that being the norm for long. We're not far away from someone taking out several LEOs following those "engage immediately" don't wait for SWAT instructions.

The OBVIOUS answer is to get those WMDs off the streets. I'm sure all our public servants would rather go in and engage immediately folks with a handgun and a shotgun all day every day instead of this shit..

are you talking about Uvalde ?

    I find TrolleySquare in SLC...

I will hold further comment, Except,

see above about 'active shooter'. And

    I had read the classroom door in Uvalve was a 'barrier door (bulletproof)' ;
This morning, I read the murderer shot through the classroom door injuring two officers
    ( I am reading an Inconsistency. )

    Deep-, more insight ?

    Thanks. tj

    SJG.

Please Stop referring to rifles and handguns as "WMD" . you undermine your own credibility, And discredit the cause you claim to support ( while writing about your rifle with a twenty(?) round magazine.
    That's great.

rifles and handguns are Not WMD.

Not talking about Uvalde. I try really hard to only comment on things I can speak about from a first person perspective. I was at Trolley Square, but all I know about Uvalde is what has, for better or worse, been put out through social media and regular media. And that amounts to very little in real life. I wish I had more insight about it, but there isn't a ton of inside information yet in my circles.

Interesting op-ed in the Times this morning about differences (and similarities) between Australia when they put substantial gun control in place.

^^^^ yup - pick people over guns......and stop worrying about your political future.

"But if Australia is to serve as any kind of example, it is for the bravery and principle shown by conservative and rural leaders, often at great cost to their own political fortunes, in making the case for reform to their gun-loving constituents. Character of this caliber may be far harder to extract from the ranks of today’s Republican Party than it was from Australia’s conservatives in the 1990s."

I'm referring to high velocity high capacity magazine rifles as WMDS... Most handguns, shotguns, bolt action 30 odd 6, stuff not banned under Brady aren't WMDs..

As for "bulletproof door". Like the vests, bulletproof might only be rated for handgun and shotguns. An AR15 fires a projectile that can easily pierce a lot of things otherwise considered "bulletproof". That's the fucking problem I have with them being easily and readily available to the general public. Newtosn shooter used the AR15 to destroy the barrier door at the front of that school.

You know just as much about the car business as you do firearms.

Lamborghini stores are extremely profitable. I wish I owned the store I work at.

We are slum lords. Get it right.

I started at Lexus of Nashville 10 years ago and now run the Lamborghini store. You could say I'm a Tier 1 car salesman.

That's the one. I stopped working at Bentley/Rolls as of last Friday when commissions were paid. Always wait till you are paid to quit at a car dealership.

I was there yesterday signing off on the cabinets and shit.

Yall stop flirting with me and come up with something better than what I've already suggested.

Ill be over here getting people firearms training and making safer gunowners.

No need to thank me all at once.

You two should get a room..

But on the topic of gun industry wealth, those gun industry executives probably have their kids in overseas boarding schools, not here in the line of fire...

    Right?

Kids from overseas come here to go to boarding school. I've got some connections in Thailand. He's actually a big Democrat there and hates guns.

The school I went to is like 30% Chinese students now.

Looks like we are getting something done, I don't think it's enough though. both the red flag laws (which would still need to be implemented by state) and more extensive background checks for under 21 AR buyers leave access open to human error or simply not enough data. mental health money and some closing of loopholes are welcome, but could we at least get federal waiting periods?

Regardless of what the federal government says, state legislatures are going to make up their own rules by choosing to implement or not implement whatever the federal's come up with.

Another great step towards further dividing our population along social differences by state line.

Guns, access to abortions, LGBTQ rights, cannabis, voting access, religion in public schools, etc will all be set by states.

Look to Florida, Texas, Idaho to set the bar on the right, and California to continue to support the left.
