I started to fill out the IKON survey but it was pretty clear that the survey had nothing to do with improving the skier experience and everything to do with marketing. I quit it.

I love everything about Ikon including the stoke in their marketing emails and am proud to be part of their new focus group.
I'm going to suggest they install Tesla specific parking spaces and cortado dispensers at all Alterra properties by 2023 at the latest.

Put your Tesla on autopilot, fall asleep, and get beheaded by a semi.

What that the survey that asked what words best described Palisades?

Was this the Mountain View’s survey? Crystal sent one out and first question was about profession, and I quit right there.

I don't recall. I got it a few days ago. They wanted me to answer a bunch of questions about every resort I'd ever skied at, I did a couple and realized answering the questions wasn't going to do anything to make my skiing better. Only Ullr can do that, and I think Ullr is dead. December was their last gasp.

Your daughter left her MacBook in my Tesla because there's no WiFI! I'm out of la croix. Where can I get a cortado in a metal water bottle? Or some edamame and oat milk?

I think you’re kind of mixing up rich yuppies and poor millennials here

It was a great South Park episode, but it reminded me of the “got change?” zombie episode they had years back.

Ive previously avoided christmas week trips like I avoid toothless methhead hookers in South Lake Tahoe casino parking lots, but just like with the aforementioned hookers, sometimes its time to experiment with new things.

Actually the groms school schedule is becoming more of a pain in the ass so may need to take advantage of his days off more, so any insight into which Ikonic spots will suck the least for crowds and at least have a fighting chance of decent snow? Looking to get a full pass so no blackouts, but any insight into how the reservation game works for places like Jackson, Big Sky and such thate require them?

Alterra can ligma balls. They messed up the resort I used to teach at and they played games with me after I deferred my pass. I think as long as people in the sport have more money than sense then companies like Vail and Alterra are gonna keep on doin' the do.

in utah i think alterra would have very little appeal if alta, bird, snowabasin, jackson and Big sky were not on it.

In Colorado it would also have very little appeal if Copper, Winter Park, Steamboat, Aspen, Jackson, Taos, Alta, Bird, Snowbasin, and Big Sky were not on it.

Thats some hard hitting analysis. Actually, true though, its not the Alterra owned mtns that bring the crowds, its the independents that contract with them for Ikon

I think A-basin does it right: limited days for ikon/mc passholders and limited pass/ticket sales. They know what's up.

So you want an ikon resort with no crowds and good snow at Christmas break?

    Costa Rica?

Aspen, but you will pay dearly for a room. Make your dinning reservations now.

Ha ,true. No, I expect crowds and mediocre terrain open most places to be honest. Just wondering which are least ridiculous. Figured Aspen like said above but Jesus, rooms are silly. Have a line on places to stay in Big Sky or Jackson but have no idea what the holiday gong show is like at either of those

It is B+ tier at best but Crystal Mountain had a solid storm over Christmas this year and wasn't too crowded.

Seems like everyone who skis there travels elsewhere during breaks and Crystal isn't a big travel destination (though they're trying to change that with the planned base improvements).
