Yes, Atomic Hawx 130s with the professional mimic liner. Matt’s explanation matches my experience (the newest version with the thicker lower shell). I’m not sure what % improvement the pro liner makes for stability, but the performance improvement is noticeable between the two boots, and I am very happy I made the purchase, and quite nice to have two of the exact same last and stance etc. for both inbounds and touring.
To be sure, this is no fault of the Ultra XTD design; horses for courses, however, "stability" as defined here is definitely what is lacking in the XTD series in a resort setting, IME. Thanks for clarifying this and I agree that we should move away from using the concept of "stiffness" to define how a boot handles. Kudos.
Great information. Looking forward to the possibility of more stability and suspension in a future Ultra XTD model!
Anyone else had this happen? Pretty sure it's caused by abrasion from the instep buckle. They have probably have north of 200+ days of use, so I guess it's time to replace them. Having to replace boots just as the season is starting to kick off is however quite annoying.
Any the chance the crack will continue to propagate?

Anyone know the dimensions for the screws that hold in the base for the walk mode levers? I didn't loctite and one of them came out. Can't find them on the website

Same thing happened to me half way through the down on a short tour last spring. Stopped by our local shop and my buddy was able to dig a miscellaneous screw out of a box that worked. No idea what size but I can say it is possible.
I lost one and replaced it at the hardware store. Don't remember the exact size but it was just an M(?) machine screw

Breaking in a pair of Hawx Ultra XTD 120s with a pair of new superfeet greens. I'm feeling pretty intense inner ankle soreness—no rubbing, but a lot of pressure. People who have scanned/analyzed my feet say I have heavy pronation, so it'd make sense that I'm leaning on the inside. I don't have any slipping, the length is tight but not oppressive, generally feeling great otherwise.
For the knowledgeable folks here, knowing that "Go see a bootfitter again" is probably the right caveat: Would you bet on waiting for the liner to break in/have it molded, carve out some space for my ankles in the boot, or should I be looking at a custom orthotic/something in that vein? I'm in NYC so we're limited on good bootfitters around here.
maybe you need a different foot bed with more support of your arch ?
I have flat feet, high arch that collapses inward I also have a set of the greens that came in some used foot wear and they don't work for me cuz i need more support
the yoursole.com are the off the shelf foot beds that work

Custom footbeds are always going to be superior to an off the shelf trim-to-fit (assuming they're make by someone know knows what theyre doing).
You might need some additional posting to correct the pronation. You could post your superfeet too in the interim.
Punching the boot is always my last resort.
Drifting this thread slightly: Has anybody been able to compare the NEW Hawk Ultra 130 to the Salomon S/Max 130 Carbon? I prefer the fit of the Atomic, but the Salomon just skis so much better. The 20/21 version got vague when skiing hard (bellowing?) and I couldn’t get over it. Wondering if the stiffening that happened for 21/22 fixed that (by all reports it did) and made the skiing performance more comparable to the Salomon.

focus.
Any durability issues other than the ripping cuff (above) with these boots, specifically breaking the screw that holds the rear tech fitting??
The screw that held the tech fitting to the heal of my 2020 Ultra Hawk XTD 130 broke in the boot, this is the second time. Atomic was able to extract the screw the first time but no dice yet this time. I'm probably going to need to buy new boots, I've skied these for 2.5 short seasons as a dedicated touring boot, they ski well and don't hurt so I'm temped to suck it up and buy the same boot again but, shit, they broke twice. In 15 years of touring in with tech I've had zero issues with boot durability prior to these.
Like I told my last wife, I never drive faster than I can see, besides it's all in the reflexes.
My right boot makes a sort of creaking sound when I'm walking and sometimes if I flex my ski ill notice a little clicking noise that I don't hear at all in my left boot, but I can't find any cracks or deformities in it. Checked the boot board too and it was fine, but I'm wondering if it's worth taking into a shop to see if they can track down the potential issue.
Anyone got a set of spoilers lying around for these? Late in the season I know but I'm still dialing mine in. Ultra XTD 120s in 26.5 if that helps
I'm not sure what I've got kicking around at this point, but FYI the spoilers seem to be the same as the Redster spoilers, if you happen to have a race club near you those may be easier to find.

I have the 19-20 version of the Hawx Ultra XTD 130's (the green accents on black one) and noticed when I skied them inbound this weekend (thought we were going to tour a bit more) there is a lot of open space in the top of the boot in my lower calf and seems like too much forward lean. Now I could crank the buckles down even further but I'/m not sure if that is the proper solution. I also ski this years inbounds version of the boot (mimic liner) and don't have that same amount of free space.
I probably have 100 some odd days on these boots in a mix of conditions (80 in bounds, 20 tour).
Is there someway to take up this extra room via a new liner (new mimic tour one?) and perhaps adjust the forward lean? Looking for any suggestions to get a more snug fit w/o cranking down the buckles harder.
Which non-XTD boot would be most comparable to the XTD 130 flex wise? The XTD feels a touch soft to me, almost like a 120 resort boot which is what I would like to ski. If I were to get a non-XTD ultra, would the 120 match up to it?
I don't know, but I have the 130 XTD and Ultra 130 alpine version and the XTD definitely flexes softer/different. It just feels different overall. The walk mode in the XTD changes the flex. Both fit and work well for me. Consider that there are multiple options to soften the Ultra 130 by removing rivets if needed, and that it will be a smoother flex. It's not a crazy stiff feeling boot at all IMO. I would start with the 130 rather than assuming the 120 will match the XTD somehow.
I agree that the XTD feels like it has more forward lean. There is an aftermarket walk mode chip you can get for it that allows you to make it 2 degrees more upright than it can with the stock chip. I have that and recommend it if you want the angle to feel closer to the alpine version. I had to special ordered it through Evo Gear
Also, there’s a XTD Mimic liner with a flex zone on the back. It significantly improves ski performance and fit for me, onbviously at the cost of weight.
I also run the 13° flip chip for less forward lean.

I'm on the 19/20 boot currently, they made some improvements to the thickness and downhill performance this year right?
