La Paz makes Seattle look flat it is like 2000 feet from the edge of the city to the center.

Slammed with meetings tomorrow, but hoping to get up Thursday or Friday. Looks like they are projecting 12/22 as opening for Alpental and Saturday for Center. Night skiing starts next week at both West and Central but not Alpental. Probably safer that way, but really looking forward to some Alpy under the lights.

Going to skin a bit then ride the chairs until 11 or so. Black/pink Loveland beanie and blue jacket. I’d be stoked to meet some folks to get a lay of the land.

Bout to go on paternity leave to relieve the wife and send her ass back to her money making job. Depending on her workload and ability to take a morning or day off when it snows a bunch my skiing options may be limited to the post bedtime hours of 8pm-10pm. Looking forward to "late" night laps at alpental all January/February.

Hopefully we get back to a 10pm close at Alpental again after the 9pm close last year. I definitely missed the extra hour. My guess is that it's gone for good, though.

It was pretty amazing to work till 5 be on snow by 6 and get an upwards of 26 or 27 laps in. With how aggressively I was skiing at night last year it's amazing I didn't get hurt and I'd like to think that the 9 to 10 hour would be the riskiest

I know. I love it and now I generally get to call it a day around 3pm. The best part about 9-10 was how empty it would be. If it was snowing, you'd have fresh refills every run with little competition. I noticed my kids would start getting a little more ambitious with jumps, etc. with less people around. It was the best. Looking forward to some night time laps together this year!

I will admit I was certainly very conservative given it being my first time at West, early season legs, not optimal coverage, and being along...but I clearly need to explore a little more. That does not look like the Summit West I rode...Is that a serious traverse to get to?

They don't have any Night times listed for Alpental yet. Just Central and West. Both of those kept the 10pm close last year. Definitely not worth leaving Alpy at 9pm for an extra hour over there. Plus Silver Fir usually closes at 9pm, too.

Based on the hours page, Alpental starts with nights on Jan 4. They list 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

I cannot wait, and hope to meet many of you on some fantastically cold and dumping nights with endless refills. Nights are unfortunately going to be my best windows without family. (except on huge days where I say screw the consequences, and just make it happen!)

I'm stoked for nights as well.

In addition to the occasional solo night raid, I plan to have my daughter in tow most Wednesday evenings.

Ugh, I guess that's what I get for not switching months. I'm glad you are smarter than me. [emoji28] Stoked we are back to 10pm! Will be looking for kooks and don't be shy. I got a "change for a nickel" sticker on the back of my helmet and no one has ever asked for change...

Nice. My son has xbox addiction issues I hope to break him of. He has always ridden with my wife. Earlier this year, he said he wanted to go off the run "more" and ski in powder this year. HAHAHAHAAHHA. Perhaps after he makes progress, we'll be dropping my wife off at West on our way to Alpental...what could go wrong with that plan?

Puma, how old is your son? I am usually up with at least one of my boys (18, 16, 14) or my daughter (11). We'd be happy to ski some laps with him and show him around. I know the pain on pulling kids away from video games.

Norse, looking forward to breaking out our twin BGs for some night time free refill sessions.

Hey Phatty. My son is 13, almost 14. Let's plan a time down the road to connect with your youngest. (A win\win. Dads meet, and hopefully, my son progresses!)
