50 years later, the amount of improvement to even basic things like braking is mind-blowing. It's like no one understood physics before 2000.
Great car, but whoever approved those wheels for production….woof

Behold, the only grille, er, Land Cruiser that will be sold in the US starting next year.

I still call it The Jake.
Ugh.
Lexus saw what BMW has been up to lately and was like, here, hold my beer.
I still call it The Jake.
I think it's a noticeable improvement over the outgoing model but that's just me.

My neighbor has one. I always thought it would be cool to have that car or a MGB GT. After watching how much time he puts in to barely getting his to run, I am cured.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
I learned to drive a clutch on one of those green TR6.
So disappointing when Triumph came out with the TR7

Yup, that was the end of a storied brand.

Speaking of Jensen's, if I had been 10 years older and loaded I would of had an Interceptor for sure.

I can't find the clip, but when Clarkson, Hammond and May all bought 70s British roadsters and explored their "charms", that was enough to scare me off from what are otherwise great looking and fun to drive cars from a bygone era.
L2S, that Interceptor is cool, no doubt, but I'll take anything looker's right over it in less than a heartbeat.![]()

I have to say that tr6 is a nice drive , linear power , handles well, sweet exhaust note - it’s a hoot to wring those gears out. Pretty clean too , great lines and stance. I’ll take some better pics once the seance is over.

This was yesterday walking distance from my house:
Ken Block won.
I found some more British iron in its usual state while visiting friends of friends.
interesting paint job on the valve cover. that is not a very powerful engine. I've seen a MGC-GT with a 6 cylinder engine.
On the other hand this TR6 is ready to go and just gathering dust (and cat hair) in my garage.
I'm really happy with it as an extra vehicle. Easy to work on. Enough power to handle a modern freeway. Eye turning looks. Fun to drive if the weather is nice.
Cool piece of marketing.
Indeed! Wife and I actually just watched this ad together the other day. Got us both excited about what Honda Motor Co. is up to these days with this ad coming on the heels of the Civic hatch being released with a proper manual too! Been many, many years since I've had a Honda, but now they're back in my good graces with these announcements. Haha. They always have made among the best manual transmissions IMO. We are seriously considering the new Civic for our next car for this reason alone. #SAVETHEMANUALS
