This shit is costing employers money so I can see more no-vaccine surcharges and vaccine mandates coming.

Here is the 2 health plans from my company and the Covid cost.

    Self-funded plan
2,076 claimants (up from 1,973 at the end of June)
$839,454 paid (up from $758,374 at the end of June)
There have been 211 confirmed cases, 80 ER visits ($75,096) and 3 in-patient admissions ($92,361); 1 new hospitalization since last month at $36,529
1,286 members with a vaccination and 1,057 members fully vaccinated (28.11%)
    Fully-insured plan
525 claimants (up from 514 at the end of June)
$392,487 paid (up from $370,133 at the end of June)
There have been 67 confirmed cases, 24 ER visits ($32,069) and still just 1 inpatient admission ($129,863)
251 members with a vaccination and 211 members fully vaccinated (29.76%)

And are likely comfortable delivering vaccines to animals used for food production. Further, if vaccines are suspect…how are animal med chemicals any less suspect?
Just amazing & alarming that these decision-making wizards are driving around us everyday; open-carrying; voting; choosing how to raise their kids; etc…if that’s not a slow motion catastrophe unfolding around us in everyday life, i don’t know what is.

I guess we already saw some initial fallout with the election of the recently-unelected president.
Lots of livestock people take animal meds all the time. Mostly antibiotics but also pain killers and tranqs (I know a woman who killed her husband with Ace and stuffed him in the freezer. FBI came to our barn asking about her but that's another story for another day).

Anyhoo.....Often times these scripts are filled at the local pharmacy rather than through the vet and they are the same drugs people take.

Last Fall my Appy got gladular gastric ulcers. It required that he he be given 30 Misoprostol a day (the morning after pill) for a month. I cleared out all the online vet pharmacies and WSU trying to get enough. Eventually I had to go to Walgreens for last couple bottles. I have some left over. Wonder if I had a young daughter who got herself in trouble if she'd help herself.

Funny story related to that: My wonderful vet at WSU, Dr. Gold, told me that when she was working in Saudi Arabia treating horses she needed Misoprostol but when she tried to get it from a pharmacy they freaked out because it's an abortion pill and that's a big no-no in SA. She said she didn't even consider that when she ordered it because to her it was a treatment for a horse.

Yea we go with time based testing based both on studies of infected folk to see how long folks were shedding replication competent virus, and on contact trace studies indicating time of transmission.

Using time based clearance of precautions doesn't just spare tests, it clears people faster. It is possible, likely even, that people will continue to test positive for COVID-19 via PCR long after they are no longer infectious. This is because PCR looks for a small genetic sequence unique to SARS-CoV2 which are present in remaining RNA fragments or incompetent virus long after the person is no longer transmitting disease.

We stopped using test based clearance by early summer last year. We actually advise against testing someone for COVID-19, period, if they had COVID-19 it in the last 90 days unless there is a very compelling reason to think they have it again. We are trying to avoid false positives, unneeded isolation, or unnecessarily extended isolations.

If you use test based clearance you end up like those poor cruise ship people in early 2020 some of whom were isolated for many weeks or even months!

You need verification of identity to:

    Go to school
    Buy or rent a house
    Get a job
    Buy many things
    Get legally married
    Drive on public roads
    Etc.

So basically you’re correct. You can legally travel anywhere public you want to walk, ride a bike, or a horse without the possibility of detainment. No requirement to get a drivers license but it seems pretty fucking inconvenient not to.

This woman spoke at the Grandville board meeting yesterday and has over 19 years experience in mitigation training and is a Senior Industrial Hygenist that works in Occupational and Environmental Toxicology. She teaches the “experts” on how to effectively use a mask.

She said at the end masks decrease oxygen intake by 20%. Is that true?

The way she speaks, I would not want to speak with this woman in any context whatsoever.

Private businesses can require whatever they want for entry right? I think the last 18 months have shown that you don’t need to go into a store to buy goods, you don’t even need to leave your home. Nobody is being forced to get vaccinated. It might be a requirement for employment or to enter a business or public building but no one is being forced to get vaccinated. If people want to participate in “normal” society they can get vaccinated or opt out.

And apparently you’re wrong because more private businesses are now requiring vaccine for entry. It’s freedom, individuals(private businesses) have a choice. It’s not discrimination because it’s for the greater good and the protection of society. There is precedent in the SCOTUS over a hundred years ago. Amazing how our democracy works huh?

I know it's not very scientific at all, but all last year when the kids were in school wearing masks, they never - not once - got a cold or anything. I'm sure there's no mask that can stop ALL viruses, but to say they are completely useless and "child abuse" is a bit much. But, of course, I'm no expert!

I'm no expert either but if masks do "nothing" why do doctors performing surgeries wear them even in non-pandemic times?

FFS. 0% effective. If you need to discuss a % it's because it's not 0 (or 100). That poor woman isn't going to win many court cases with this in her background.

She reminds me of the Infection Control nurse at my hospital, emphasis on Control. She wanders around and changes practices and protocols with things that she doesn’t understand at all. I’m not even sure what credentials she has. She’s the laughing stock of every employee and physician here. Some of the things she changes make no logical sense from a scientific POV at all.

I tend to discount or at least be very skeptical of anyone who claims they are an expert over and over.
