Unvaxxed parents of 4 make dying wish that their kids get vaccinated. If only fuckfaces weren’t out there (and in here) spreading seeds of doubt in the public in order to score political/internet/ego points.

Wait for the results from this study.

"I still contest the best approach is to not get COVID in the first place"

Yes, for many, many reasons. It's not even an argument really. Case in point, people are taking about the option to receive Regeneron's antibody cocktail (REGN-COV2) versus getting the vaccine. Not sure people appreciate that getting REGN-COV2 requires an infusion.
And isn't pretty "experimental" as well? I mean it's all so weird.

Again, back with my simple "samples".
Spent week with family and kids at the beach in NJ. Only one non vaxxed, my 9 yr old. Did the boardwalk thing each night, out to dinner one night, beach daily. Rides, interaction with other kids (we dont know met on beach) that were for sure under 12. Whole week no masks (I wore mine in stores as a courtesy mostly). Guess we will see if the little guy gets sick.

ETA: this is 0 cases in my household of 4 since patient zero.

Zuc interviewed on CBS or NBC, can't remember which, but was asked if he knew the number of times misinformation/disinformation was disseminated to the masses via his platform and he said they didn't have that number. Isn't that sort of what they do, crank the numbers on how many clicks shit gets and what people gravitate to? To act like they don't have it or that it's impossible to figure out is bullshit. anyhow, yeah, FB is really doing great stuff for society.

Just like the president of American Airlines probably doesn't know off the top of his head how many pounds of fuel are burned by the A321 between JFK and LAX, but every airbus pilot and dispatcher clearly does.

That plausible deniability sure comes in handy.

Ha! I don't think it was the actual number, but more of a "do you know the number" and his answer was that it was unknowable. Seems like bullshit.

You can be sure Zucz' minions update him on the $$$ made from ads on these types of posts.

It's bullshit but it's not. How do you quantify disinformation/misinformation? Some posts are easy, sure, but some aren't. And some you may say are and someone else might say are not. It's not a simple objective what does 2+2 equal question. So yeah, even with all their number crunching, it is an unknowable number. Which is not the same as saying that FB has no idea what it's doing or has no role here, I am not defending Zuck at all.

Catecholamines. 20+ years of hearing and seeing the propaganda preaching hate and lies 24/7. Studies have been done on how it alters the brain. I've studied it. You're welcome.

You have no black or Hispanic people in the neighborhood, obviously.

26% of young blacks in NYC are vaccinated. Not the white trash that CNN likes to rail against, but, core Biden voters.

Those are the semantics Zuck relied on, but he knows perfectly well that unknowable numbers like these can be bracketed to a range. That's his bread and butter. They've definitely identified the maximum and minimum in some way (probably many ways) and he's been briefed. Maybe not in the last two hours, so I'm sure he can hide behind that, too.

And he has two main reasons for being soft on disinformation. The money. It fits with his beliefs and or desired outcomes.

Oh, I totally agree with you. He's not innocent. But if he were under oath, he wouldn't be committing perjury.

Yanno.... we've got a share of citizens against mandates and vaccines but by and large the powers that be here are all for following and enforcing the Govenor's orders. Unlike Tri-Cities our city council, mayor and county health have been onboard and done everything they can to help the community and businesses find ways to get through this. I really don't get that NPR snippet that MTM posted in the Scenic Washington thread. I follow the local news closely and have not read anything like that. Tri-cities and Umatilla yes but not here. The universities and wine industry keeps W2 County pretty solid purple so we are more balanced than some in EWA.

And if the person asking had him under oath they should know to add the nuance since he's definitely not going to do it. At this point any journalist who doesn't expect him to answer like a hostile witness has no right to be interviewing him.
