My wife had a severe respiratory illness--nearly fatal, turned out not to be Covid--in April 2020. Our house in Sacramento was filled with unmasked EMT/firefighters--6 or 7 I believe. I was shocked. I asked a firefighter/paramedic friend who worked for a different dept and he was shocked.
If my wife should get that sick again I will ask the EMT's if they've been vaccinated and if not I'll throw them out of the house.

IME, you’ll be throwing a lot of FFs out of your house…..When I left, our Department was at just under 50% vaccine compliant, and I’m pretty sure that falls in line with the national average for first responders……Which truly boggles my mind. That being said, there is no fucking excuse for anyone showing up on respiratory call unmasked. That’s bullshit, and I had to personally issue reprimands for that type of nonsense. Sorry that happened, glad your wife is ok…….

I think they stopped reporting daily because they didn't want to know the answer. They rely on the CDC now to document their COVID cases. And yes, they're suppressing data and have been the whole time.

I think even in Sisters there are more people for masks at school than are against...and I hope that the school boards know that. Plus, it's such a minimal thing to do, even if it's only partially effective at protecting kids/teachers, its something. What's the downside?

Had a beer tonight with a friend who has a master's in public health and until recently was working for our county health dept. in charge of infectious diseases and has been on the inside of this thing from the start (after a year and a half covid drove him out). His take is delta is so transmissible that we're likely all going to get it. All you can do is get vaccinated and protect yourself against a severe case. All he had to say about people who don't get vaccinated was "Stupid."

Salt lake county council just voted to overturn the mask mandate for schools put in place by the salt lake county health department.
Start the timer until our schools join the list of districts quarantining hundreds of kids and returning to at home learning. The lists of early start schools in anti mask states that have quarantined hundreds of kids grows by the day. Fucking retards. I just want my kids to stay in school. Wait til the council sees how pissed anti mask parents with 5 kids in south Jordan are when their kids are sent home. Fuck all those people.
