Just a single spare. One of my friend’s shoes cratered on a ride in Peru, and I thought it should be in my bag for the really big days.
Thanks.

Your go-to long day XC/adventure riding pack?
OR
Frame bags that fit an SB115?
My Henty lumbar pack is great cause I can hold 3.5L of water, but doesn't leave much room for other stuff for long 10+ hour adventure rides into place where I might not find water.
I bet a Revelate Full Suspension frame bag fits pretty much perfectly. They’re pretty clutch for carrying snacks, a wind layer, tools, etc.
Otherwise, have Rockgeist or Rogue Panda whip you up a custom. Their lead times are probably pretty long right now though.
Blackburn makes a $40 one that fits PERFECTLY, like it was custom. Ill find a link.

This is the one you want. I ran it on my sb100. But get it quick, it looks like Blackburn may have discontinued it.

It is small, though. Fits my wind vest, or some snacks/tools/cell phone.
Here it is on the bike, but it is way overstuffed with a rain jacket.

I would definitely dig getting one, I’ll take it to a PM.

Ok so I am definitely gonna get the little blackburn frame bag, but I will need a legit pack as well. I loathe wearing an actual backpack on bikes, but if I need to I need to. Long XC rides and probably should bring a real pack to the enduro in Mexico in October.
Osprey? USWE? The USWE options look pretty good. Some other brand I am not thinking of? I think the 14-18L range makes sense. Food, water, light rain jacket, some extra tools that I wouldn't normally carry for a standard enduro race. Shit like extra shoe cleats, etc.
, I tried to register for Oaxaca, but got shut out/sold out.
I snoozed, I loozed.
Would have been good to hang, WG.
Oh, well.
120 is a lot of participants, though!

What I use to hate about a bike backpack is how hot it got on your back. I really like the bike specific packs that have a system to get the pack away from your back.
Mrs Dee Hubbs wears the Dakine Drifter, not sure if its 18L or 14L, but the mesh back suspension system keeps the whole pack off of your back. She wears it a lot because her frame does not hold a water bottle. I have replaced her generic bladder system with a Camekbak version.
I have a Camelbak Mule 14 that I use for longer adventures. It has some sort of mesh back ventilation, but not as airy as the Dakine. My Camelbak also has a removable back/spine protector and a water reservoir, along with all the other bike specific features like a helmet carry system and tool specific pouches.
Sram Eagle X01 rear der and shifter for $250US? Seems decent? especially with the parts shortage
I'm glad to hear someone acknowledging the reality that fanny packs are limited in utility to short rides.
USWE packs are pretty nice and the harness works. The ultra-durable and last a lifetime version of that is the https://kriega.com/riderpacks/r15. If you want the best, that's it. The one I use on the moto is about 8 years old and looks great.
I, however, have gone a different route for long rides (8-12+ hours). The magic combo is a jersey with pockets for snacks that you can access while pedaling and a running hydration vest. The running vests are great for 2 main reasons: they are very stable and spread the weight well; they ride high, leaving the jersey pockets accessible. They are all also really light, but obv not as durable as the R15. I have an older version of this https://www.osprey.com/us/en/product...O6S19_347.html and it's held up to many thousands of miles. 1.5L isn't enough unless you can get refills, but I can carry another 500ml bottle in the pack, 500ml in my bike frame bag (along with tools, inreach, and a couple of bars), and a bottle in the bike cage. The newer running vests have great stretchy front pockets that hold phones and more snacks. Many also have bungees on the back which work well for kneepads.
For even more easy storage the bib shorts with thigh pockets are great, but for real enduro racing you're probably wearing shorts over your shorts, so that won't be a great option.
ride bikes, climb, ski, travel, cook, work to fund former, repeat.
Yeah my hotlaps is really handy for carrying like an extra 1-1.5l of water and a few things but when I need a bunch I wear the full pack. About due to replace my raptor 10, it's pretty beat these days. I think I'd go a little bigger too, like a 14 or 18l as it gets pretty packed full when i need a full day of extra water and snacks and some layers.
I hate wearing a pack at all, but I kinda like the idea of these running packs. I have space for one water bottle and put energy drink in that.

Well maybe I'm the faggot America
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda
The Kriega packs are very well built and, from a moto perspective, stand out for working pretty well both with and without armor on. I haven't tried mine on the bicycle.

I’m still using the Ergon pack I bought in 2008 with the ball joint suspension to keep the pack off your back. Thing just won’t die!

Toss up between the Dakine Drafter 14L or this:
https://www.amazon.com/USWE-Shred-Ba...7&sr=8-10&th=1
I've got the 10L drafter, definitely a bit tight on space for full day missions with a 3L bladder, but overall I'm really liking it, both for the mesh, and the low/wide bladder that keeps the weight at the bottom of the pack
Some Osprey packs have the same lifter style. Plus a no questions asked lifetime warranty. Fantastic.
Also, I hate, HATE, jerseys with pockets. Jus sayin.

I do love the osprey ski pack I have, so that is a tempting option.
