You took too much man, too much, too much
Damn, that must be something else being out in the wild like that. Amazing scenery.
Snowbird tomorrow and alta Saturday. Any areas I should check out? Appreciate it!

[ATTACH]367991[/ATTACH This was fun.
Not 100% skiing, more of a hybrid skiing + speedflying (really mini-paraglider). Known as speedriding. I think you all will get some good stoke out of it. Its been so fun that it's helping turn me as an OG snowboarder into a skiier.
Anyways, early March following our massive storm cycle delivered some really good low wind high pressure days allowing us to ski, fly off of cliffs and touch down on snowfields all in between. So I put together an edit. Now if we could just get this allowed at snowbird again like they use to permit some years ago, we could make some serious progress in progressing this sport further in the Wasatch. Till then, it'll have to be human powered 100% or euro trips.

Speaking of doing this in europe. The master himself Valentin Delluc slaying it in France. Not Wasatch stoke I know, but too cool not to share:

Sick! My favorite part was you sending it off bighorn! Where was the cliff at 1:45? cut in and out too fast for me to recognize the areaGood to see you crushing it as usual buddy.
Edit: well shit I guess you can't embed vimeo videos anymore.....
Yup, I tried to embed the video, but no luck. Bighorn to cliff was definitely one of the biggest highlights of my season thus far.
1:45 was after cutting skiiers left of hellgate back bowl, but just before reaching the main hellgate cliffs. Same run as when I passed my boarder buddy down hellgate back bowl. I cut sharp left and then rolled into that tight looking chute that gets real steep at the top. The one no one ever skis, possibly because it doesn't have an obvious entrance.
I was hoping that was your buddy snowboarding and not some random tourer. Looked so close there.

Feels good to be back in SLC!
Saw this on Lift Blog, A Basin to reduce season pass sales for next season to ensure the experience. Here is what their GM said.
The ski area’s operations plan for the 2020-21 season stated that A-Basin had a target guest number, which was not publicly released. If the ski area approached 85% of that number, staff planned to close the parking lots and announce the closure on social media. While A-Basin has tweeted that parking lots were full in years past, there have been no such announcements so far this season.
Looking ahead to next season, the ski area will limit the number of lift tickets sold each day and cap the number of available season passes at 90% of what was sold this season. As part of the change, all tickets must be purchased online and in advance — no lift tickets will be sold on-site — and the ski area anticipates selling out of weekend lift tickets on a regular basis.
“We know pretty clearly when things start to get a little too busy, so we’re really focused on just trying to get just up to that threshold without getting too busy,” Henceroth said. “And we think we can really do that with … reduction in season pass numbers and limiting lift ticket sales on a daily basis.”
How refreshing
Waited until 10:30 to let traffic settle down, hopped on the bus, and an hour later was skiing untracked pow. Doesn't get much better than that anticipation you get standing on top of a line that you know is going to be a contender for top 5 of the season. Really really good out there on all aspects. Slow moving sluffs on steep stuff but nothing concerning.![]()
A very angry 4" overnight (Thanks Marketing team for not understanding snotel data!) inbounds. Figured the touring would be one of the best days of the season, especially if you throw the lack of fucking scary into the mix. Dshack confirmed above!![]()
Tried to get up to Alta this morning and got a late start. Got to just past the 7-11 around 8am and then dead stop for about 30 minutes. Is that normal? LCC road opened around 8am so couldn't figure out why we weren't even moving a little bit. Would have stayed in the mix but we were dead stopped and not even moving a little. Finally bagged it, turned around, and went to PCMR (which was super fun all things considered).
The K-12 dude. You make a gnarly run like that and girls will get sterile just looking at you - Charles De Mar
Ha. I had that exact feeling about 4 separate times today.

Got back to town to find a nail in a tire. Anybody have a good place to get a tire patched near the U?

Today did not suck.
Nor yesterday.
Time spent skiing cannot be deducted from one's life.
Hard to say, but since I wasn’t here for Feb, best day of my season. Jtran10 with the snap. None of my photos came out.
My gf snapped this one of him.

Amazing day out there, kinda milky all day in millcreek so used that as an excuse not to pull out the camera too much.
