Do you use a sled to access it?

Skied this morning to suss out how the snow faired after the weekend of HOARDZZ.
- IB at silver was pretty fukd odd refreeze and when it warmed it became schmooo not corn.
- NFG had pockets to destroy which were a most excellent.
- poked OB and was seriously delighted by what we found.

After today though our hill is gunna be quite funky. Left at 12:30 but it was HOT!! Every aspect that was not shaded or directly north had a pretty stout crust. With warm temps and no precip it looks like it’s time to bust out the bike because trails down in Spokane should be killer!!

after ~12 miles on Sand Canyon Road, you hit
Calispell Meadow, an undeveloped campground/gutpit
the road starts to switchback and climb the peak from there
like so many roads around here in winter and spring,
all it takes is the right machinery

What's the best place for a beginner mountain in the spokane area? Looking for lots of green runs. I ski at Schweitzer and they have a good bunny hill but zero greens hah, kind of hard to progress for a beginner. I looked at mt spokane, lookout, schweitzer, silver, and 49 trail maps and it looks like 49 and mt spokane have the most greens. I'm leaning towards 49 as I'm guessing mt spokane might be pretty busy. Also a nice lodge area to grab a beer/lunch would be nice. Any recs?

You're on the right track. 49 has a couple short chairs with green runs, a bit more variety than MTS, then graduating onto blues. MTS is good but, yes, probably a bit more crowded and probably not quite as much beginner area.
Agree on 49. One challenge: chair 2 only runs sat-sun.
Good mags @ 49 too, though we've got to up our stoke game.
You just need to know about the secret cliff spot between 2 and 4.

Hahaha that’s hilarious — the not so secret huck to FLAT that all the pounder snowboarders flock to? Yeah that one!

Anybody doing the Leadman at Silver this year? Thinking about giving it a shot just for fun.
Going to hit up 49 on Saturday. Thanks all!

Muddy parking lot was full today thanks to Toyota but surprisingly not many people in beginners chair. I think lodge 1 was open today and that new chair in the back really spread people out.
While sketchy, my son finally skied off leash today, thanks to slushy snow and less crowded slope. Spring season is going to be fun!

Apparently there was a fatal accident at Schweitzer this afternoon. Skier hit a tree at fairly low speed near the top of White Lightening. RIP
