The loaf locked up tighter than Fort Knox last night, all lifts on hold and no uphill traffic today. Glad I got a couple laps out on Burnt Sunday cuz it's gotta be fucked out there now.

yesterday was foggy but good til the temps dropped.
then the sun came out.
then only the groomers were good.
then the groomers got tooth rattling and i nearly called it a day with 20mins to go.
then i saw the squalls from my car and grabbed one more ride.
it was snowy and gusty, and like that my return to mrg featured mud, fog, sun and snow.
skiing is fun.
cashews are good on the lift (as singlecross reminded us all)

Anyone know what is going on with Stowe's uphill policy? They posted an update that due to violations they would "reevaluate our uphill program". The cancelled uphill overnight Mon-Tues (with the weather was expected/follows other resorts), but I'm surprised that they just posted again that Tues-Wed would be cancelled. Gotta imagine someone really fkd up...
Cashews and funshine!
Sun is bright today and the temp has risen a bit alas the wind hasn't abated and......
*All scheduled lifts are closed for the day except Village Quad, the Welcome Mat, and the Sunshine Quad.*

How was the grooming off the magic carpet?
Yeah, the mountain looks pretty good. We're definitely set up, a couple of big storms would make the season memorable for the skiing as much as the shenanigans.
When I first saw those Bucket shots I thought Jiminy is looking a lot better than I remember!
eta: no ginger snaps?

^^ ha, jiminy was gonna be my newly yet-more-appreciated, nearest ski option in 20/21, but alas i made it back to the MRV before the berkshires.
will see if i do any skiing in mass this season. too much catching up
to do to the north.
took a break on the ginger candies (not snaps as those are cookies i believe); didn't wanna pull any fillings!
^^ Aldo: yea, more than ever after a year+ away. but damn, i'd been spoiled by a the sub-90minute drives before yesterday.
did my usual power nap in whitehall to add 2hrs to my trip home.
door to door in just over 14hrs...
Don't think there was much left that was loose anywhere on the hill. Wind blew like a motherfucker until 3ish when it started calming down. The hill looked like it was on fire all day with the amount of snow being lifted off the trails and in the trees. Should be a few soft turns here and there and some windboard as well.
20º and calm bob w/1" of new snow overnight and a misting of current snowfall.

Not been too many windows that have lined up schedule or conditions-wise on Washington/Agiocochook this winter, but Sunday was definitely the best I've skied so far. Soft, stable, grippable and forgiving snow in Huntington made for some serious redemption turns. My bud Ryan giving it full beans.
Forecast looking a bit bleak for anything other than ice climbing lol.

4-5" in Lake Placid this AM. Nice surprise. Will be curious to see how things are looking up high. Here's a little throwback stoke from last week:
that looks great. agreed about conditions up high. I want to go so badly but the days I can go I just say 'no that's just long sliding fall, sharps up and down, bogus day'
glad you got it.
friends that ice climb are happy, at least.
and NH woods are skiing well.
Sunday was great.
I <heart> hot tele-moms
Saddleback had some wind... the crust up high and anywhere exposed is littered with sticks and limbs. 1” of dust on crust and drifts make you pick and choose where to turn.
