Don't ever change. I think it's funny that some people get so tweaked over it.

No it needs to be a powder shot because Upstate skiing is all about the powder. This one was also on an almost sunny day, that in and of itself disqualifies it because The Upstate is decidedly not sunny.

I was there that year. We drove in the morning after the bus got torched, and, I said, holy shit, that's a fucking Greyhound! I guess I should have known that was the death of the Bog.

Experienced something similar at Sebring in 1981. That involved Hustler magazine. RIp Larry Flynt.

That was a crazy night but the swamp did have a reputation. Watched buddy wrench the compressor out of that bus the following morning. So much fun and nobody died.

Those were the days. At night, the Bog, and you could go over and walk through the paddock for like five bucks where all the teams were wrenching. You were so close you could reach over and grab a tool. Literally bumped into Brian Redman one time. Mario Andretti is a small man.
Then I went to the first F1 at Indy in 2000, and the closest you could get to the pits was peering through a fence like 100 yards away. Watched a waiter dressed up like Eric Idle in Meaning of life rushing upstairs with champagne, and thought, well, that's over.

If it weren’t for the covid I would have been tempted to give this gentleman a hug. Probably would have been punched in the face if I had but...

There's a lot to unpack there.

First, what does this particular brand of skier go by in the Upstate? Back when my every day place to take laps was an 800' bump in the Ohio River Valley these guys were known as the Carhartt Racing Team.

And you did not fuck with the CRT.

Secondly, are those Tyrolias, on Rossi 9x's?

Lastly, tread lightly when inquiring about his tuck choices. An unprompted comment about that can tend to be misinterpreted by a man dressed in full camo.

Good on this soul for getting after it though. Buy him a pour of UC and ask him where he thinks he's skiing right now.

So yeah that Industrial Arts Brewery is cool. I stopped in yesterday and grabbed the NEIPA. The BBQ place a few blocks away, Big Daddy's, is really good. That's what we went over there for and I saw the brewery on google maps so had to go.

You’ve just identified the only two legitimate reasons to ever get off the Palisades at exit 13 (apart from my FIL living there). I love Big Daddy’s. I also just grabbed a four pack of Industrial Art’s coffee porter, which I have been waiting a long time for them to bring back .

You're right about that. That area is pretty dumpy but not in an Upstate sorta way. It's like worn out, used up suburbs so that's a point against that area being part of The Upstate even though it looks like it should be. I gotta go get me some of that Porter, that's my favorite beer of all. Yum. Yeah we got a Groupon for Big Daddy's so took a ride over there, they still have it available it's a kickass deal so we'll be back soon. Soon sorta, my wife fell on the ice outside the back door last night and broke her ankle That's gonna suck. That means that in addition to getting her to an orthopedist today to get it dealt with I also have to dig a 100 foot path up the hill in the front yard so I can get the truck to the house because I sure can't carry her down the stairs and ice sheet driveway. Me and my shovel are gonna enjoy digging through the thoroughly rain soaked foot of crunch on the ground and the 4 foot thick plow pile at the bottom oughta be a blast... Anyone got a blower and wanna come help?
