Did anyone else think this marketing from Silverton yesterday was, I don't know how to describe it:

Silverton Fully Vaccinated in the Coming Days

The San Juan County/Silverton health department is doing fantastic work and the entire town could be nearly fully vaccinated by the early of January. Just one more reason why Silverton is the place to be during a Covid winter.

If they are skipping the lines and vaccinating young healthy people when vulnerable populations in other places are not getting it then its not right.

Maybe Silverton should prioritize English instruction instead.

I got ModeRNA shot number 1 this morning. So far, I've got some moderate soreness in my shoulder and only a slight increase in 5G coverage.

Good luck with your dose today, seano.

Hmmm. If it does not improve 5G reception significantly then I might skip it.

My guess is that they got one container of the Pfizer vaccine so have ~1000 shots available. That vaccine is only certified to travel short distances packaged in dry ice once the main package is open so I'd bet that they are unable to do other vaccinations besides in Silverton thus the higher rates in a small town.

Or I'm full of it and Summit can provide the real explanation.

Maybe I need to let the Windows update install in order to see the full Bill Gates benefits.

As long as we're implanting chips maybe they could make them RFID gate scanable so we dont have to keep track of which jacket has our season pass. When you get your shot they ask you if you're IKON or Epic. If both you can get the other chip when you get your booster.

I thought Rob Katz was really gentle and attentive. I could tell he had some experience.

I just saw that 33%of HCWs at our medical center declined the vaccine. Great.

How many of those "declined" because they've already had it and don't want to jump ahead of those who haven't?

Very strange. I get SJC is remote and hospital access gets challenging if 550 closes, but it was a weird mix of humble brag and WTF.

I don't know a single person who wouldn't get it. In fact, the first person in my county who got the vaccine was infected already.

I'm interested to see if he keeps working--he does emergency surgery--or if the AF still sends him for 2 months of training in 2 weeks or so (right after his second shot). If he doesn't do the training now it probably messes up his team's scheduled deployment this summer. My guess is the AF won't give a fuck about the Covid unless people are actually sick.

There was a survey from several weeks ago, before the vaccine was available, that included all non-medical staff and remote workers across two states.

That doesn't reflect the local hospital at all. Every doc I know got vaccinated as soon as they could.
