So now Smuggs will have two jammed together opening bells? After chilling in your car for an hour? Sounds like fun. Though Doremite is likely right.

Actually looks like some snow will fall for tomorrows openings.

Pretty excited for tomorrow morning at Smuggs. Should be legit for a few runs. I’m second guessing having bought a pass this year though. It felt weird standing in lift lines back in March.

Bell to bell to bell to bell

See you there - green tele skis, green FL puffy, yellow helmet. Although this season will be strange for meeting folks.

The half days kinda make sense for New England. So much love for corduroy and so many freezing cold days. Base lodges closed or limited.

Plus, break the groups in half. I’m sure many will opt for the afternoon. I never understood the god awful early lift spinning.
Know many folks in Line at o dark thirty for fresh velvet gnar, and then they leave at lunchtime anyways.

Sleeep in, enjoy hearty brunch, let the sun rise. Works for me.

But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers

Lunch? They're gone by 1030 at Steaux

Because 4runner opens at 730 which is just dumb. Make it 915 like Alta. It's much easier on your constitution.

I welcome midday grooming. Afternoon new England skiing on a weekend is trash and you know it.

Wawa used to do the mid sesh groom on busy nights, but they closed one trail at a time to do it. Worked pretty well, but the Jerry race for the fresh cord rope drop could get interesting.

Could be nice on pow days having a non moguled way back to the chair after lunch. Then again hero groomers after a few car beers could be a problem with how many people get hurt after lunch anyways.

My biggest concern is parking in Lot 1 and zooming to the chairlift to be told that it’s closed for grooming and then not being able to get to my car without a significant hike.

I’ve never once heard of midday grooming. Would suck to be forced to sit out a full hour in the middle of your ski day, esp when sunlight is in short supply this time of the year.

I thought you lived for that hiking shit. Just make sure you're on your fishscales.

I live for skiing powder. Hiking is often necessary to meet such a craving.

Hah. Did that once. Fucking weirdest rope drop of my life.

So proud that my young boys were on my tail, and we owned it. Lol.

Pretty sure we met a few years back in passing but not 100% sure. I'll be there with the two dirty Tele's above.

Cut thru from lower exhibition should be well covered to avoid the hike to 1. That said, I might choose a lower lot anyway.

East Coast Roll Call #??? 20-21 Covid closures and hard core touring! Be Fit or Sit

Making the push for Smuggs. Was being stubborn about terrain variety but pretty psyched to get on skis again. I just hope the terrain is Covid sufficiently with this new snow. Bring it!

Just a guess, but they may be splitting their customer facing staff into 2 groups - AM & PM. That way if the staff is exposed, it doesn't shut the place down. If the AM staff has to quarantine, the PM staff can fill the gaps for 2 weeks while the exposed employees ride out the quarantine.
