Damnit, Timberridge beat me to it. The question still stands.

Brownski, it's your TR so you make the call, but I think it would be best placed here for ease of cross-referencing and to assist with the development of our ever-evolving map.

This is gonna be a great TR. I'd put it in the Main Forum.

I've gone further. Especially if there's an apple pie sundae on the other side.

We used to get ice cream cones at Jim's in Lackawanna back in the day, they were ridiculously huge and cheap. I just tried to look them up for you but I guess they went out of business. Putting a quart of ice cream on a cone must not be good business.

Well for all the shit I seem to take for living in NC, you’ll be happy to know this resides in my kitchen island. A traveling memento from 25 years ago probably. Was actually served a garbage plate at a business meeting in Rochester once.

Grew up in a Pepsi house and still dislike Coke. RC cola was also very popular in WNY, which you all know is part of Upstate.

Still think the deciding factor is if you had old vienna splits.

Yeah those or a good Genny cream lets me know you're from "upstate". If you say "pop" for soda you're way north and might as well be a Canadian.

I used to make fun of the Rochester cousins for saying “pop”. I thought that was a midwestern thing.

They drain it? I didn't know that.

I think of Pepsi as a New York thing. Seems to be more prevalent for sure. Despite Pepsi being invented in NC even the panthers switched to coke.
Every time I swing through New York for work it’s Pepsi and no free refills.

    Two things:

    A) I now know a bar in Saratoga Springs that I will never go to thanks to being the rumored birthplace of Don fucking Maclean’s American Pie, except for the sole purpose of laying a Cleveland Steamer in that very special booth; and

    B) Extra Thrillist-listicle points for saying the Miracle on Ice over the Cossacks at Lake Placid was for the Gold Medal.

Do we even know if these places are actually Upstate?

    FFS.
The consolation is that Dylan played there pretty much around the same time in his Masters Of War period.

9 Maple is the best bar in Saratoga, the region, and possibly all of outside Manhattan. Saratoga rocks.

And don't go to the Sacandaga. Totally sucks. ugly. Stay away. Do go to Lake George if you want to look down on people.

Thank God they didn't mention Schroon lake. Practically on the highway.

Hungry Charlie's, aka Chucks, in Syracuse had Monday Greatful Dead night with cheap buckets of OV Splits. Pretty much the only time I ever drank them. Good times.

Since we’re talking soda, how about some Stewart’s orange cream. Yum
