Damn hard to stay abreast. Map of Lionshead from yesterday shows perimeter still inside the Rez. https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/map/7049/1/
Map from today (presumably this AM) shows perimeter into Jeff park and Breitenbush.

Guess it doesn’t really matter, ‘cause shits getting real in Santiam and McKenzie drainages. The MHM cam is frightening esp when you see it shudder and understand thats due to the wind

Just went level 3 Go now.

    From KVAL:

“This is a tragic day of epic proportions for Lane County. It appears that the communities of Blue River and Vida are a total loss – including an estimated 150 homes at this point," according to the text of the letter. "We have lost the Goodpasture Covered Bridge, the Belknap Covered Bridge and likely the McKenzie Bridge and Vida transfer stations. Over 1,000 homes have been evacuated."

The letter notes that "at least one employee in the County has lost a loved one to the fires."

Medford OR under level 3 evac orders

    Medford Police

    Updated Level 3 Evacuations - 7:05 pm
    (Map added)
The fires are moving in a northwest direction front the South Medford / Phoenix area, and also directly north along the greenway towards Medford.
Level 3 (Go Now) see map. Red areas are level 3.
We are also evacuating Charles Point Estates on Lowry Lane.
All areas outside this area should remain in Level 2.
We will update as this situation unfolds.
    Stay safe.

Washington Emergency Management Division posted a local alert for the state of Washington.

More than 330,000 acres have burned since Monday. Further assistance from more firefighters and the Washington National Guard is on the way. Some notes:

▶️ For the safety of shelter residents and workers, the Red Cross is unable to accept material donations of any kind right now. Anyone looking for help should dial 211.
▶️ The Washington State Patrol is particularly worried that brush fires may explode into deadly fires from people throwing cigarettes out their windows. Please don't do this.
▶️ Seeing others getting evacuation notices? Sign up for local alerts for your home turf ahead of time to make sure you are notified at http://mil.wa.gov/alerts
▶️ As the winds start to slacken, we're left with a complex air quality picture. North Central WA is still seeing impacts from large fires. A fire in Skamania and fires in Oregon may cause problems in SW WA. Western WA is improving, but smoke may linger. Many people are wondering where to go to escape the smoke, but conditions are dynamic and changing quickly, so most communities should be prepared to stay indoors. Check out the smoke forecast from the Washington Department of Ecology. https://wasmoke.blogspot.com/2020/09...pdate.html?m=1

Of course I’d rather this than what the west coast is dealing with. Still...so weird.

Thanks for the maps NM. Internet and the majority of cell data have been down for my area so those maps are about all I've been able to get my phone to download.

Not looking good for China Peak. Hard to determine if they managed to hold a perimeter or if there wasn't enough heat coming from the trees between the runs for FIRMS to pick up. Definitely got into the perimeter as well as the base area, possibly got into the two lifts that go from base to summit.

It may not have been much of a mountain, but it's where I got the bug 25+ years ago. They don't have big real estate money to survive this. Maybe insurance, but last I checked Cohee was running the place.

I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

Also not looking good for divegirl's parents condo (circled in green). They are holding the line right now but it could go any time. Hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

Winds shift by tomorrow (Thursday) around noon bringing moist marine air from the west. This should help suppress the Oregon and Northern California fires. Just got to make it through the next 24 hours.

Woke up at around 3am shivering from the cold (42°). Had to dig out my down comforter from the closet.

95° two days ago, 50 mph winds on Monday, 70s yesterday, 95° by the weekend. Stick a fork in me, I'm done with this crazy year!
