    Some hippy stupidity/ignorance:

A private dance party in my area occurred on July 4th. Several attendees have had symptoms and tested positive. Some other attendees have since gotten tested, also tested positive (asymptomatic), and have shared this with the event organizers, but the organizers have not heard from most attendees. People attended from all over NorCal....

I feel like I have read conflicting info about risk and vulnerability and spreading potential for adolescents/teens. The above report groups 18 and under as low risk. Is this coincidence with confidentiality related to minors?

Also, is there any data teased out for children with special needs in terms of vulnerability? They often have compromised immune systems.

This should make everyone feel safe about sending kids back.

remember... if we didn't test we'd have no cases.......... so naturally it follows if we don't talk about potential pitfalls of in class learning there won't be any.

Maybe the White House has gotten control of the numbers in Georgia already. Doesn't correlate with any other state spiking in positive tests...
Don't look at Texas. Even Montana had a spike

I knew about Alabama (and that was in the article) but didn’t know about the polio trick. Not sure if that was in the article. Should have linked it but was barely awake when I took the screen shot

Plausible. That might explain a newer much longer recovery/mortality range.

Granddaughter and her mother had contact with someone who got the Covid. GD started hacking and wheezing last weekend. Mom took her to ER. Her temp was only ~99 so they sent her home. They tested her at the time and test came back Wednesday as negative.

Her cough got a lot worse and temp spiked Wednesday night so back to ER. Docs decided to hospitalize and tested her again. This time it came back positive.

As of noon today her temp is now down to ~100 and they have the coughing fairly well controlled.

Kid is not happy at the hospital. No one can be with her except mom.

Mom was tested as well - came back negative - and remains asymptomatic. Go figure.

The circumstances make us hopeful. However, we had a kid die of cancer, so we are also having irrational anxiety attacks in between the logical hopeful thinking. I still plan on getting her on the Magic Carpet this winter.

At least we shouldn't have to worry about her bringing the Covid to our house...unless the positive test was a false reading...

We haven't seen her for five months now. Ms TBS has been collecting toys during this time - spare bedroom is chock full. Were planning on her visiting this weekend, but that's not gonna happen for a while.

    Thanks again
i hope she’s out of there real soon.

Haven’t worn dress shoes since 2007; sneakers for running, but that’s it. Barefoot or flips since probably March, when the snow melted. Maybe April?

FUCK YOU, Joshua Swahe (https://www.facebook.com/joshuaswahe), if you or anybody else that knows you sees this post, you are an ignorant piece of shit. You and your various yoga and ecstatic dance organizations have mislead people to believe that COVID should be caught and spread by younger people, worldwide. You brought hundreds of people from around northern california to a small rural community to host a 3 day dance party over the July 4th weekend, Embodiment - Full Moon Convergence. Now that gathering has created a hot spot of covid19 with many attendees now testing positive for COVID19. People are already sick because of exposure at the event or exposure to attendees that got infected, and some may die because of your actions. FUCK YOU!

Despite the ignorance and stupidity from our "leaders" in the White House, it looks like school districts are starting to trust science instead of the orange fuzzy logic. DPS just announced no in-person schools to start, and I'm willing to bet most CO districts follow.

    And yeah, fuck you Trump.

The victims of the Tuskeegee study were not injected with syphilis. They had naturally-contracted syphilis. US PHS doctors chose to not treat them in order to observe the natural course of the disease. They were not informed of their diagnosis and were given various sham treatments under the guise of free medical care. The "study" did not end until 1972.

Black people certainly have plenty of other reasons to be suspicious of white authority figures including doctors. My observation was that most Black families were loathe to consider comfort care or withdrawal of aggressive treatment from gravely ill patients. A famous case involved a 13 year old Black girl who had postoperative bleeding and cardiac arrest after tonsillectomy and became brain dead. Her family kept her on a ventilator for 5 years until she died of liver failure. https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/29/healt...ath/index.html

Yep, agree 100% (here in CO, at least). That's what I've been telling my wife for the last two months.

I'm sure we'll have some guinea pig states that will prove the science wrong for us, however.

I changed a word or two because I believe you’re fully entitled to some serious worry. Take care of yourselves as best you can, it’s been a rough road for you both.
