The Dual Compound is slower wearing and much firmer durometer overall than the 3C, even in the center blocks, but I’ve never tried running Dual Compound up front, nor have I tried the Dissector yet - so I don’t know if you’ll be sacrificing too much cornering grip running Dissector DC up there in SLC conditions. Anyone else care to chime in on that?

That said Dissector DC front is probably still worlds better than that junk you previously posted! By my analogy, Dissector DC is probably more like running a Nokian WRG4 tire in winter, vs Dissector or DHF 3C being more like running Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 / Hakkapeliitta 8.

That's awesome. Since I'm currently running, by your analogy, a bald knock-off korean road tire on a 94 ford focus, I'm guessing the WRG4 will be a nice step up at least the dual compounds are a little cheaper. The extra 1/5" won't hurt either I am sure.

Eventually once I sort this out (and maybe handlebars, and MAYBE a drivetrain,) so you can all laugh at me I'll post my complete build of "most expensive beater bike in the Wasatch"

I've been a DHF/DHRII guy for years, but decided to try the Agressor for the rear. The DHRII was nearly slick, the DHF up front is only about 60%ish worn, but I went ahead and ordered a new one anyway. It feels weird to put on a brand new tire in the back when the front is 60% worn, but I'm cheap and it feels weird to trash tire that has 40% life. Should I throw the DHF on the back for a month and wear it out? Anyone run a DHF in the back?

I have a 35-40% worn dhf with a stickier compound dhr ii on the back. DHF was fine until the new tire got on the back, now it's the weak link... so, will pull it and replace it this week, but not sure what to do with that DHF either. May throw it on for a park day or two and know it'll be a little funky in the back.

There was a time before the DHR II where practically every DHer on the planet ran DHFs front and rear. They don't brake as well as the DHR II but they work fine.

Dual dhf is fine as stated above. Now that I use thicker casings in back I can’t rotate anymore makes it more expensive but rear tires don’t cut every couple rides so worth it.

I ran this on my 27.5 with 35mm internal wheels, I found they had a "dead spot" about half tipped over that got scary on the front. I ran the NN on the rear and it was great though.

Been on DHRII f/r or DHF/HRII f/r for the last few years. Both 27,5 and 29, currently on 29s. Considering trying some new options when the current pair of DHRs wear out, not because I'm not satisified, but because "what if?"

The trails around here are often littered with roots and/or rocks, not built up berms or anything, often wet, and seldom allow speeds that make you lean over much. Traction is main priority.

The new Vittorias are interesting, but the ones I'm looking for input on are the Continental Barons. Both as front and rear. Yeah, I've heard they leak air when run tubeless, but that's fine. I'm looking for input on how they ride, especially on slippery natural trails

Sweet, I checked not that long ago and they were listed as coming soon. I've just put new rubber on but most of it is really soft, so, at the rate I'm riding this year I may need new by mid fall, so may just stock a pair now.

OG High Roller was the faster rolling dry conditions rear tire for most in CO. Old DHR or DHF if it rained.

If you put a DHF on the rear, you have to ride fakie. It's the rule.
