Notice how the chick drives the Bronco Sport

    I'll take 2-Door Rapid Red Badlands + Lux 2.3 7MT please.

But real world will probably be base + sasquatch

I can't believe you guys and gal got sucked into this hook line and sinker.

What a POS. And this is coming from someone whose first ever memory of any vehicle was the family car, a gen 1 bronco. 74 to be specific. Dad had guys at the plant weld plates in the floor so my sister and I wouldn't fall through the holes in the floor. Lap sraps over our guts and kid seats and my head still hit the roof.

Do I need to take up rock climbing or bouldering to own one?

Will be interesting to see how many recalls come out after/during the first year of ownership.

This might be one of those wait til the third year cars. If everything works the way they claim, I think Ford just set the turnkey standard. The SA would be cool but they made up for it with other good stuff.

2 dr Base model with 35s / Sasquatch pkg seems pretty legit.

The original had clean lines, nice form follows function vibe like a Landrover. The new one seems to retain that.

That’s a fucking pisser for me. How can they make high HP cars with autos and can’t give me a proper v-6 with a manual? Really bummed about that.

Does it come with Firestone tires?

It's a soyer fjcruiser. Need I say more, or do you actually want to put some gear in there and do stuff?

    #mrbummerman

But you could probably by a roof rack, etc.

I can do 20x more with my '87 pickup with a corp 14 bolt detroit in the rear and a dana 60 posi up front for your interest payment.

I'll tow you out, if even I have to go to the frame because it doesn't have a solid anchor point where I won't pull your dash out.

And I won't guarantee that, but you'll be out of the lame shit you got stuck in. The dash part.

Is it OK to still say bag'o'dicks?

    As well.

Sadly, the New Bronco is the New Defender that never came to be... Defender being one plasticy piece of shit.

The floggings will continue until morale improves.

seems its just ford trying to get some of the jeep wrangler market to me, although I will give ford credit for going back to its roots with the bronco and leaving the oj simpson bronco body style behind.

So what are the odds that between now and when this thing goes into production emissions standards are changed to a degree that makes it unrealistic/impossible for Ford to actually manufacture and sell this thing?

    We can hope, right?

A 4runner with a removable roof like the old days would be pretty sweet.

WTF are you talking about? Frame mounted steel bumpers with anchor points and a winch mount available from Ford. Did the FJ come stock with 4.7s and 35s?

From comments here and on the internet, this is pretty polarizing.

I'm going with the "like it, but can't afford more than the base model" crowd. I'm not very up to date on car pricing, but >$40K seems like a lot for this...but $40K also seems like a lot for a pickup (to me).
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

The rumor mill says the next Land Cruiser will be more like old than new so here's hoping Toyota introduces a worthy competitor.

It's not just this shiny new tchotchke. Auto prices are insane and new truck and SUV prices have well outpaced inflation.

Exactly why I think this whole Bronco thing will last a few years then get canceled. The last recession (and gas prices) took out the FJ. This model is about 5 years too late.

Hopefully it has better sightlines (or whatever it's called when you can't see shit and there's a thousandty blind spots) than the FJ cruiser.
