I am in a position to retire, but still working 7 days at anytime needed as we are just in the second inning of this imo. lots more jobs to be lost, possible second wave coming, increasing taxes and probably a depression before this is all over and an economic growth trend starts again. there's no guarantee I do not get financially wiped out during, so I am keeping my job efforts and marketability at peak levels until then.

Back working part time as the state (MT) has said they are beginning to reopen. We'll see what's going to happen at our place but it's been nice to go in and do stuff. Partner is still wfh at the same place and will continue to do so to limit the people in the facility.

Been wfh for about a month. A lot of online training. Have been able to go out and shoot some stuff (video) At first was told “just write down what you did that day, don’t worry about the hours.” Now I have a spreadsheet I need to fill out and it has to add up to 8 hrs a day. Freelance sports work has stopped. It could be out of control once it starts up again with all of the sports trying to catch up

Merchant Marine Officer. I was able to join my ship, that is isolated in the Indian Ocean, just before the DOD put the travel ban in effect. I work on Gov. owned contractor operated ships so we are under operational control of the USN. One of my collateral duties is MED PIC so I am daily reviewing COVID stuff as it flows in from USN/DOD. Had I not been able to fly out the guy I relieved would have missed the birth of his 1st child so I am glad I was able to get him home.
I am safe here but I am very concerned about things at home, more so mental health than physical health. The Mrs. now is now WFH on her state fisheries management job that wears her down. Full plate for her with the 7 and 10 years old boyz who are a handful, could be 4 more months before I come home for Daddy Day Camp V3.0. No idea when I will be able to get home. I am usually gone 4 months.
My work is essential but the uncertainty of reliefs for people who have been here 4-6 months already is a killer. International travel is not going to open up anytime soon. We are restricted to the ship. Most of us take these particular jobs for the quality of life in this small sector of the MM. It has been a real shift in quality of life. I am teaching a couple fly fishing classes on the helo deck the next 2 days and hopefully it's a morale booster. Good thing I carry an M9 in case this all goes to shit

I’m in sales for a huge company that sells, distributes, ships consumables to retail. We’re considered essential. By sheer luck, I work in the half of the company whose customers are thriving. The other half the bottom fell out when everybody started shutting down. So overall our business is way off but I’m still selling a lot. The buying frenzy at the end of March was like Christmas for my customers which trickles down to me of course. On the other hand: We also have tons of drivers and warehouse guys calling in so, even with the reduced business, our operations seem to be on the edge of breaking on any given day. I’ve been working from home on the phone rather then seeing customers in person. Today management furloughed about half the sales organization. But not me. So that’s good.

Job diversification has ^^ always been life in the small town up here cuz there never seems to be enough work for a full time gig but if you got a few gigs it adds up to one job, a buddy had a different job for every day of the week ... 5 jobs

If we were in a hot spot area (thank god that’s not the case) we’d still be working and people would be dropping like flies.

Vibes. Wife has managed to work from home for the last 5 weeks after an bunch of wrangling with her boss and HR and doctors notes. One of her co workers was at a construction meeting with 2 guys who later tested positive so now he is at home isolating. Almost none of the crews or inspectors I drive by when I am working seem to be taking distancing or masks seriously.

Just started a new job as a fish biologist two weeks ago. Starting off a job while working from home is a weird deal but I'm feeling super fortunate to have picked up a new job in the midst of the covfefe.

I'm in the planning department of a semiconductor mfg company and am fortunate to be WFH for the 7th week now. I can do my job fine at home and am hoping that this gives us more flexibility to do so when we do go back. It is more efficient to have 2 large monitors in the office rather than only a smaller laptop screen at home, but I make up for that with the lack of interruptions.

Wife is WFH and college son and HS daughter are schooling online at home. While it's nice being able to WFH, i do miss the social interactions of being in the office. We are doing a lot of zoom meetings (should've bought some stock in that company and it's a very frustrating place to work so I think it's only a matter of time before i get busted for yelling out obscenities when i think I'm on mute and am not or doing the roll eyes on screen.

Production personnel are going in to the plant while anyone that can WFH is instructed to do so. Production personnel started a staggered work week a few weeks ago to spread people out. These people are also receiving an extra $100/week in their paycheck. Anyone that has a COVID related illness will get 3 weeks of 100% pay and i believe 12 weeks of 80% pay.

Always looking forward to getting a bike ride in at the end of the day if the weather is decent, but it has been pretty crummy lately. My wife and I argue over who gets to go to Costco or Shop Rite. I thought for sure I would be divorced by now being around my wife because she is a control freak and always go go go and I am very laid back. Surprisingly we have gotten closer and not at each other's throats like we sometimes get. I think she is starting to buy into my mantra of enjoy what you got and enjoy it now, especially since someone close has been diagnosed with brain cancer.

Hoping this gets better quickly for all those sick and out of work.

You don't have a second monitor or small TV at home that you plug in? I've been WFH for twelve years and have always run a monitor plugged into the laptop as a second screen.

Still working here.. Work in a factory making oil/hydraulic filter shells. Not much has changed at our plant other than we leave 15 minutes before the next shift is let into the building. I am taking that new fmla 2 days a week so the wife can work a couple days as well (Director of Parks for a local town)

I'm sorry to hear that, but it doesn't surprise me at all. I'm not pleased with the fact that Inslee lifted the ban on construction here. Shit is going to flare back up again big time here.

We have a computer room/home office setup but my wife has claimed that as she already was using it to catch up on work from the office before this came about. I am set up in the living room on the coffee table. If this was going to be something longer term I would get a better setup.

I have a usb C docking station with dual 4K 27” monitors that I can use in addition to the laptop monitor. I get occasional lag WFH (remote session to onsite computer for security reasons), but otherwise I don’t even miss a beat. Very much worth the nominal investment to get a good setup, even if you can’t convince your employer to pony up.

Before the shutdown I WFH for most hours over 40 and occasional half days. Now that I’m WFH 75%+ I’m more productive than ever. Which is good, because my workload has increased an easy 20%.

ICU Nurse, still working, haha.

My unit is the primary COVID ICU at one of the the two Level 1 hospitals here in Salt Lake. We're the biggest Level 1 ICU in the intermountain west and get patients from all of UT, MT and WY, most of ID and NV, and randomly from western CO, and northern NM and AZ. We haven't been hit hard yet, in fact we've been slow and have been getting called off more than usual. That may be changing as I type. We've got more COVIDs than we've had on the unit right now and have been on a slow, steady upward trend. The hospital is actually taking very good care of us in making sure we're not losing pay, although they've announced that our annual raises are on hold. We've been given 40 extra hours of paid sick leave and they're paying us our full wage for getting called off if we don't meet our FTE. I have nine weeks of PTO in the bank if necessary but they're also covering the 1/3 that work comp doesn't if we need that. They made us sign up for one extra shift/week over 12 weeks so far for surge staffing. If we get used for those we'll get time+1/2 plus 15%. I didn't get used my first two.

Actually feel double lucky. Even though work is a bit more scary and stressful right now, it won't change much for us until we're totally overwhelmed. Other departments and other facilities are losing hours and pay. Those that have the capability are training on my unit for repurposing if the shit hits the fan, including ACNPs and CRNAs.

Oh yeah, I'm off sick with a cough right now. I go in for the test in the morning. Don't think I have it but who knows?
