Glad to hear he is doing well. No need to apologize, every one of us is going through some weird shit right now, but some is much weirder or much shittier. Sending more good vibes for your dad.

Or women in general. COVID-19 has a gender gap—in NY men are twice as likely to undergo severe illness.
A follow up report on how many develop symptoms after any incubation period would be useful. And if there's a takeaway maybe it's think twice before visiting hospitals, clinics, and dentists... if at all possible.
I'm more surprised that 15% tested positive. If that's true of the population in general, or of 20-40 year-olds, that's a much bigger step toward herd immunity than I would have guessed. If NY's healthcare can sustain the load, repeating 15% infection 3-4 more times gets us to herd immunity range. Not saying we want to go that route, but it does create an option.
I would have guessed only 1-2% positive, a low level that rules out trying for herd immunity. 1-2% is the highest range in other studies I've read about.

A typical pregnant women going into labor has been in and out of medical facilities much more often than a typical person. Visits to MD, birthing class, doula, etc. maybe they were more likely to come into co tact with someone in the waiting room than average. Just a thought
